State of the Scribe: April 2024

You know what they say about the best laid plans? I'll be real brief with this update, for reasons that will be self-evident.

State of the Scribe: February 2024

Another month, albeit the shortest of the year. I still haven't had a chance to get into the process side of my writing and write that detailed plan for the year, been too busy writing a novel. Guess that's a good problem to have.

State of the Scribe: January 2024

This is exactly the 71st month I've posted a patreon calendar. Almost but not quite six years of writing fanfic, sharing all these ideas with you that would otherwise stay trapped in my head. I couldn't begin this post, and the beginning of a new year without expressing my profound thanks to everyone who keeps supporting me. Your help, big or small, is the only reason I'm still able to write

New Story: The First Willowbrook Christmas!

Hey pones! A Merry Christmas to those who celebrate! Last year I wrote a short story for the holiday, but the editing pushed it back for a little while. For those who enjoyed Sisters of Willowbrook, I have a story for you to check out! The final chapter will get posted tomorrow:

Hey pones, hope everyone had an awesome Halloween! Time for a new month, and more pone.

As before, we're seeing lots of the same stories here. It takes time to complete narratives as long and complex as these, paticularly a story with as many viewpoints and goals as ambitious as Forbidden Places. So there shouldn't be any surprises to my readers here.

Making a big push for NANOWRIMO on my discord server right now. If any of you are participating, feel free to join in! We do daily writing activities, and I plan on weekly accountability checkups to help people stick with their goals. Should be tons of fun, check it out here: https://discord.gg/ZrxSEjt9FZ

All the same monthly stories, which I'll be describing at the end of the entry here if you haven't seen them. Also there's Together We, a story you can read for free on my patreon right now. That story will also be complete in December, and I'll post a PDF to grab it once it is.

What other news is there? First, I'd like to do another book printing in January of next year--either an anthology collection of my FiO stories, or a printing of Founders of Alexandria. I would like to print both eventually, it will just come down to whether Zutcha is up to doing a founders cover or not. I couldn't imagine printing an LPoE book without his art on the cover.

In my own writing world, there's some other exciting news. I've finished the first draft of my magical girl novel! It's in the editing phase now, so you probably won't see it until the new year. But I can say I plan on release the book as part of a trilogy of new adult urban fantasy stories, all focused on the magical girls. More details to follow, but I'm really excited.

As part of that process, I officially incorporated a business in my state of residence, hereby known as "Polaris Press." Future book publications will be done under that imprint. And if the magical girl story isn't a winner, I've got two other books in the works--maybe high fantasy or science fiction will be more my speed.

Of course I have no expectation that pone readers will follow me when that time comes, but I'll make sure to make links available if anyone actually wants to.

In the meantime, we probably won't see this publication calander change much until January, when Forbidden Places and Together We are finally done. Hopefully Return to Sender can make the transition to fimfiction then--that story is so close!

Thanks so much for everyone who has continued to support me, either on patreon or just as a reader on fimfiction. I couldn't do any of this without you.
