A Momentous Occasion · 1:41am Oct 27th, 2021
Well, one of many soon to occur. I passed my driver's exam!
Because our state decided they would extend their lockdown rules a bit longer, I no longer have to take the multi-hour drive with the instructor beside me. Literally all I had to do was park forward, park backward, and do a three-point-turn, and a couple of turns and stops.
And I still failed it the first time a week ago. I accidentally ran over the base of a cone while going forward, and it immediately ended. I felt so ashamed and embarrassed. I knew that mom and dad still loved me, but this is way easier for us. I was cutting it a little close, you know? You can't take two exams on the same day, and if you fail the second time, you have to wait a week. I'm about to be set apart as a full-time missionary this Sunday, you know? I have no time to waste.
Anyway, yahoo! After more than 60 hours of driving and other instructor accompaniments, and two weeks of three-hour Driver's Ed classes, I've got a license! I can now enjoy it for, like, three days or something. Then it'll be used as ID for traveling. Hopefully there'll be a car in my mission, but I'll still count on a bike. Luckily, it won't expire on the mission.
Wow, it's really coming up soon, isn't it?
Congrats, man! Way better than I ever did.
Ayy big congrats dude! Passing your driver's test is a big deal and I'm proud of you!
