Movie is out, no real spoilers.

There are no real spoilers here, but just in case, keep in mind I might let something slip.

So my schedule for today and tomorrow is a little busy. Elections in Iceland and all that.

But anyway, I did finally manage to see the movie, and it wasn't bad, I laughed at parts and quite enjoyed it. Nothing really ground breaking in it, it was a safe movie if that's the correct word but good kind of safe. I've seen all kinds of stories where society has split up and has to mend itself together, even if everything used to be fine in the past. But I thought they handled it alright considering the demographics they are actually targeting.

My only real complaint is the horn of the unicorns and it's more of a nitpick than a complaint. I just never like it when the horn looks out of place on the body or looks all sparkly or even see-through. For me the horns looked more like tacked on glass ornaments than part of their bodies, I tend to prefer depictions of unicorns where the horn actually looks like something that does grow out of their bodies.

But it didn't distract me too much, especially on lighter-colored unicorns but it was more noticeable on the darker-colored ones. Then again they could have been trying to go for more narwal tusk looking horns, by making them like that, since narwal tusks were sold back in the day as being genuine unicorn horns. So props to them then if that's the case for at least making it a bony structure coming out of their heads.

However, as I said, that's more of a nitpick and didn't detract anything from the characters or the story, just sometimes found it a little odd.

Otherwise, fine movie, and I'm actually looking forward to the tv show.
