My Little Pony Movie News 09/22/2021 · 12:40pm Sep 22nd, 2021

Dance magic, dance (dance magic, dance), Dance magic, dance (dance magic, dance) put that pony spell on me...

*Offscreen* What're you doing?

*Pauses mid-dance, eyes the crowd awkwardly* Umm... skip to the intro please?

GOOD MORNING, FIMFICTION FANATICS!!! This is the Dramamaster829; Critic, Actor, Writer, Motivational Speaker, and Occasional Singer, keeping you up to date with the latest news for the Generation 5 Movie and beyond! A short while after releasing my blog concerning some gorgeous new promo images for the movie, turns out another three minute preview of the movie had just been released... and I only found out about this as soon as I get ready to clock in for work...

Wow... you're 'really' slow on the times, old man...

I'M ONLY THIRTY, GOD DAMN IT!!!! *Takes a deep breath* Control Dramamaster... bad thoughts lead to bad actions...

Anyways, with less than forty eight hours before the new movie comes out, I figured that's more than enough time to take a look at this brand new clip which sees our 'Mane 5' (Wow, it's so weird when it's not '6' ponies to work with...) in the mythical forest of 'Bridlewood'. Or at least it 'was' until all the magic disappeared and now all the unicorns who live there are duller than mud...

We can HEAR you...

*Pause* Roll the clip!

So the major elephant in this entire room concerns the nature of the one big Unicorn character whose part of the cast... Alphabittle...

Not THAT Alphabittle, the 'other' Alphabittle...

A thousand years have passed, but I do not age...

Really? A 'Samurai Jack' reference?

Well, I did have 'other' options...

I'll put a shock to your system!

Noo...

In darkest day, in blackest night...

Noo...

KA-KAWWWWWWHH!!!

NOBODY'S GOING TO GET THAT REFERENCE!!! *Sighs* Moving on...

In light of the story of Alphabittle, apparently Izzy Moonbow knows this unicorn so well that she either 'respects' this guy... or 'fears' him. Now at this point, we don't really know what's the status of their relationship or how they know each other. Now some people have leaned toward one idea that Alphabittle is either Izzy's 'father' or Izzy's 'uncle'... which would be weird because in this clip she just refers to him as 'just' Alphabittle (Not even saying 'uncle' or 'cousin' or 'My Deadbeat Father who owes me money'...). But what we do manage to know is that this 'guy' is apparently the keeper of the Unicorn's crystal, which is one of the pieces needed to assemble into one crystal that's supposed to unite all ponies together in harmony...

Because apparently the Elements of Harmony don't mean Jack shit anymore...

And what does Sunny do just to get Alphabittle's attention? For one thing, she notices the competitive edge in Alphabittle, which automatically makes him the more 'livelier' unicorn aside from Izzy... least compared to the fact that the rest of the unicorns have as much personality as Maud Pie...

Bruh...

And... I immediately regret saying that... *Clears throat* And as we know with Sunny, one of her personality traits is being 'competitive' because in her own words and I quote:

I don't play... I win.

And Sunny wants that unicorn crystal 'so' bad... she's willing to bet the Pegasus Crystal that they 'stole'... BORROWED... I mean 'borrowed', with every intent of giving it back...

And suddenly this reaction makes a whole lick of sense...

And all this over a simple game of Rubik's Cube (Or the 'Magic Cube' as originally called) which Sunny claims can beat in her sleep. Yeah... tell that to the Robot kid who tried to solve that puzzle only to lose to a pair of bullies...

You do remember I only lost cause they 'cheated' right?

Ah, who cares? Nobody's remembers that cartoon...

Whoa man! You actually 'watched' that show?

*Pause* ANYWAYS... turns out because the crystals are SO special, Alphabittle's like, 'Girl! Uh-uh!'. And instead of solving a Rubik's cube... he challenges her to... Dance Dance Revolution...

Thank GOD it's not 'this' movie...

Now given this snippet has been featured in 'several' non-stop trailers, we pretty much get the gist of where this is going. The only way Sunny can get the other crystal is to apparently beat this Alphabittle dude (Who may or may not be associated with Izzy) at his 'own game'... in which case, a Dancing game... that he likely put together himself... and puts 'ASS' in the first place part just to mock all the other players...

The donkey jokes weren't funny the first time, kid!

This game in particular is one of those 'Best out of Three' games... but Alphabittle, in an effort to make this more interesting, decides that Sunny only needs to win just 'one' out of three so it wouldn't matter if Alphabittle can beat her two times. Because... 'plot convenience'...

DAMN IT! I walked right into that one!!!

To me, I can see why this sequence of events are featured most often in the trailers. It's as if to suggest that the company 'knows' this is going to be one of the highlights of the movie. And if it were given a theatrical release, I'm sure kids would be jumping off their seats and dancing along... before getting overshadowed by the more professional Brony dancers. And it's that scene that highlights one of the key songs of the movie, 'It's Alright', which a few fans believe to be G5's major theme (Or at least, for the movie in general). And I will admit, for a song that's mostly just to be performed in the background, it actually has a rather catchy beat and would be great to play at parties.

YOU BRONIES READY TO MAKE SOME BITCHIN BAD CHOICES?!?!?!

Not an 'orgy' party, Verosika...

I HATE him...

Overall, while this scene does leave us well aware of what we can expect to happen during their trip to Bridlewood, I will admit that this is a fun scene I know everyone's going to enjoy. We still don't really know for sure what's the status of Alphabittle and his relationship amongst the unicorns (Mostly Izzy). He doesn't seem like a bad guy initially, but the most we can get from his personality is his love for games... but mostly to win... kind of like that Ricky Flame guy...

NO ONE CAN EXTINGUISH, THE FLAME!!!!

HEY!!! BOBBY FLAY CALLED!!! HE WANTS HIS GIMMICK BACK!!!

*Sighs* And I will give credit to Sunny, when this pony can dance, she... can... DANCE!!! And of course she wouldn't be able to have that raw energy of putting her best if not without the help of her friends...

Girl, you are working it!!!!

But the bigger question remains: What do YOU think? Be sure to leave a comment below at your earliest convenience.

Until then faithful readers, this is the Dramamaster829... AND I COMMAND YOU TO DANCE!!!

I do like the fact despite being a arcade game it feels like it fits in the world

The way they actually put together this game for the movie is something I'll admit it's creative. It's not as high tech, but it's something we come to expect with Bridlewood. It's completely made of wood, the dance symbols are run by little hedgehogs with their own hamster wheel things, and yet somehow it just works! I wouldn't be surprised if someone made their own version of this one dance game (Complete with the flags that pop up to indicate the winner).

I prefer singing battles but this seems fun too!

A singing battle would've been a fun sequence, would it not? But since we technically get a concert in Zephyr Heights... well it would've been redundant if we had a singing element in Bridlewood. Then again, I know what you mean:

I can dance just fine, but on DDR... I suck.

5585241
Well, that's fair. And it's okay, I can't dance very well myself

5585242
I think my one issue is that I dance better when it's just me on the dance floor, moving about however I like, instead of in such an organized fashion. Not to say I'd do well in dance contests, but still... anyways, it's a good thing Sunny only has to win 'One out of Three' because otherwise Alphabittle still would've won.

5585247
It's just lucky for Sunny that Alphabittle made it perfectly clear that 'all she needs to do is win one out of three'. Because otherwise, if this was a regular game and the rules were basically sticking to 'Best Two out of Three'... Alphabittle would've won.

But if they made that altercation, they'd have to have it so Alphabittle won a round, then Sunny won a round, then it be a close final round...

*Offscreen* Dude, Sunny still would've won regardless how the writers chose to work that scene...

JUST LET ME HAVE THIS MOMENT!!! JUST LET ME HAVE IT!!!!

5585253
*Pause* I'm crazy... I do this a lot.

Now that robot brings back some memories I'm curious how the dancing bit is gonna come into play

If you're talking about 'Robot Jones', oh yes this was back during Cartoon Network's early years. Didn't last as long as the more bigger cartoons at the time but it was... 'interesting'. One episode I do recall is again when it turns out he's a master of the RUBIK's cube but the bullies decided to cheat by switching one of the colored pasty things on the squares so even if he could complete the other sides one 'square' would always be wrong.

And as for how the dancing bit fits in, well the scene itself seemed explanatory enough. All Sunny had to do was beat Alphabittle only 'one out of three' instead of the whole 'Best Two out of Three' and this way she gets the jewel. Of course, in order for Sunny to win that crystal... she had to beat Alphabittle in a 'Dance Dance Revolution' game.

🎵You remind me of the filly
What filly? The filly with the power
What power? Power of voodoo
Who do? You do
Do what? Remind me of the filly!🎵

Ah ha! Somebody got my opening reference for the feature. I was wondering when someone would get it.
