Discord Day wrap up · 4:26pm Sep 18th, 2021
And another story done. That was a fun one. I wanted to follow up the heavy drama of Gods and Monsters with something lighter before, you know, they have to face the consequences of what happened.
I had a pretty good idea of what I wanted to happen in this one, but actually no outline. With that in mind I eventually settled to just go for the 3 act play format. Can always rely on the classics. With that foundation I just started with bits and pieces. I would be going about doing my job and then a bit of dialogue or scene would come to mind and I would write it down on some scratch paper I kept handy before I could forget. That's just how my brain works. That's going to be really entertaining once they get the new monitoring cameras installed and then someone somewhere gets to watch me talk to myself and recite dialogue out loud like a mad person.
Annnyhow. Why did things go the way they did? Well, because Discord is discord, duh. He's a trickster. Like old school trickster, such as Coyote or (norse) Loki. He tries to teach a lesson or help out, but by his very nature things are not going to go smoothly. Sunset may need anger management classes, or more yoga.
So, what comes next?
Next up is another short story mostly featuring Sunset spending time with Celestia. Mostly will be the two trying to make up for lost time as well as seeing if they can manage a mother/daughter relationship or if the roles end up getting reversed. Because that sort of thing does happen and it creates... animosity. Currently titled: Anything, but Time. Could change, but it's not a bad title and it fits.
After that, only have one other story in mind.
As always all questions and comments welcomed.
