Well, that’s kinda frustrating. Welcome to the first blog of this type. This is the first blog of this type, which I’ll call ChangelingMojo, and today, I’m gonna be going over the list of the top 5 things I’m getting very frustrated to hear. For this list, I’m gonna be going over the comments, PMs, or complaints I have gotten in remarks to Friendship and Magic.
Be it complaints about the characters, the story, both, or comments that end up making my eye twitch, any of these things I hear….well, see typed on a screen, is fair game. I’m not going over things that I hate to hear because that list will only be 2 spots long.
Number 5: How will Chrysalis react to Bandit and Chad?
This was a question that was inevitable from the start. With 3 new main characters added to Season 1, 2 of which are changelings named Bandit and Chad. Most of the readers began wondering how would Queen Chrysalis react to these two not only living among ponies, but being accepted and loved by them for the most part. It’s not frustrating for readers to wonder, predict or theorize how she would react, but it is frustrating to be asked that directly. I have a lot of changes to add to FaM in Season 2 and beyond, and asking me to directly spoil what’s going to happen between the two is a bridge-of-nose pinch every time.
You can still ask about other spoilers, I won’t be honest with my answers, but it’s still an option if you want to be entertained.
Number 4: Future Event Suggestions
One of the many benefits of working on the entire timeline of a story for three years is that you don’t have to scramble for ideas to keep it afloat before you decide to end it.
One of the downfalls, however, is when someone gives suggestions for what they think should happen in the future. I’ll admit, this is something that I take with a grain of salt, but it’s still a bit frustrating to hear. Especially when it comes from someone who despised the Season 9 finale.
I get that you want to help, but trust me. You’ve got a good idea, it’s just not gonna fit with me. I’ve literally have it planned from point A to Point B.
Number 3: Assumptions on events
I get it, I’m rewriting the series that I love so much, but remember that Season 1 is very similar because severe changes don’t come until Season 2. So it feels natural to assume that everything, including the two changeling protags, is gonna be the same as the ones in the show.
Some of these assumptions are reasonable, but it gets frustrating when the assumptions made have already been confirmed to not be the case. Bandit and Chad can’t change their appearances (yet), and there is no Reformed Changeling Look that they’ll turn into later on.
Number 2: Using FiM to determine FaM’s outcome
This should fall under assumption, but the assumption above usually revolves around Bandit, Chad and other changelings. This revolves around the series as a whole. Again, I really do get it, it’s a rewrite of FiM, so that feels appropriate, but it’s incredibly irritating. I don’t mind the comparisons, I don’t mind questions about the similarities. But I do mind when someone assumes that they know how the series is gonna be because of FiM. There will be similar paths, but very different results.
Before we unveil the number one pick, here are a few dishonorable mentions:
Roleplaying as Bandit and Chad
It’s not the roleplaying per-say, It’s just sometimes you’ll do something with the characters they definitely won’t do. It’s not a you problem, I just know all of what they can, can’t, will, and won’t do, so I get a bit frustrated when something like that happens.
Not liking Bandit or Chad’s names
Bandit’s the first OC I’ve ever made, so I’m real attached to his name. Kama Ezio Clyde Armasta Laska Chadwickson the IV is not only a reference to Zack and Cody’s Esteban, his name being oddly human is a reference to Dr. Atlas’s changeling stories, and his names pertain to his personality (except Armasta)
Bandit and Chad not acting like changelings
One, they were raised by ponies so of course they’re not gonna act like Changelings. Two, You literally, don’t know the changelings of this universe act, so can’t making that assumption is a bit of a stretch.
Complaints on the new elements
I get it, OCs being custom elements isn’t exactly new, That doesn’t mean it’s ‘OP’. Or in Sue territory. You know you you are, and you were almost blocked
Number 1: Complaints about the episodes being similar
This will never, not frustrate me. I know the episode is very similar to the FiM series. I wrote it specifically that way because FaM’s change is not gonna be immediate, especially in Season 1 where it’s more lesson learning and doesn’t have a lot of change potential in my version of it. It’s in later seasons when things get more hectic and more threats are introduced. Heck, Season 3 is getting 17 new episodes to make the season 30 episodes long. A lot of change is coming and in season 1, it wasn’t gonna be right away. Season 2 is gonna be a steady upgrade of Change.
That does it for the list. I want to do more of these, but more positive ones. So which ChangelingMojo list should I do next?

I fully agree, friend. Season one is painful to attempt to rewrite when all the friendship stuff in it is NECESSARY to keep not only for the six, but for Bandit and Chad as well

I'm afraid you won't be getting that until after season 2 is over.
That is understandable, this is your story, you do it however you please, so I say go for it. And if there are those who are complaining about, just ignore them and surprise them, your stories are great from the ways you made this your ways
Number 5: While I am very curious about this one I'm willing to wait for it and I can certainly understand your feelings here.
Number 4: Not much I can say on this one.
Number 3: This is another one I can really say anything one, but I have done it a few times.
Number 2: I've done this a few times but (I think?) only in small parts, what we have here is the butterfly effect.
Number 1: Season 1 is the start point and unless you're rewriting the whole thing from the ground up it's pretty much unavoidable, I'm going through the same thing with "The Dragonfly Hive". Mind you, I've been mostly focusing on original content and the only actually episode I've done so far was the pilot, and even then I threw it way off the rails.
My point is that we use Season 1 as a start point and work our way from there, how we do it is up to the writer. To quote something I heard once: "One must begin somewhere."
As for the dishonorable mentions; I'm perfectly fine with Bandit's and Chad's names, heck names are one of the things I have trouble picking out. To quote Captain Jack Sparrow: "You know for all that pirates are clever cogs, we are an unimaginative lot when it comes to naming things." So I can understand what you mean Alpha.
I’ll be facing the same thing for #1 in my story series. Since both season 1 and 2 will largely be the same and the main changes not coming til season 3 at least.
