Story Delay, Other Fic to work on.

Trying to get another fic done, once I have it done (it's taking longer than expected due to some writing difficulties) I'll get back to Dirtmouth Manor Misadventures.

In the meantime, here's a bit of trivia about chapter 1 and the Mothling AU in general.

• Ghost was going to have a POV segment in chapter 1, however I wanted to keep them as sort of a mystery, so the idea was scrapped.
• The scene between Grimm and The Pale King was originally going to end on a more humorous note with TPK offering Grimm a night with him and The White Lady. ("You are more than welcome to spend the night with Root and I, dear friend." "I'm leaving," *Pale King laughing in the background* "Wait, Grimm! I was joking!") However it felt like too much of a tonal shift, so I scrapped it.
• So, what led to me deciding that Grimm is the God of Carnal Pleasure? Have you seen THK fanbase? This guy has been shipped with nearly every character I can think of, about the only characters that compares is maybe Hornet or The Knight. This is me honoring that section of the fanbase (Yes, including the R34 artists and writers) by just making the fact that Grimm fucks as a part of his divinity. I thought it was funny and no, I'm not going to elaborate on that beyond references or a joke or two.
• So, in The Blind Sun, I wanted to actually have Cadance, Hearth, and Ghost talk about asexuality and stuff, but that would have deviated from the story and the chapter was getting long anyway, so part of the reason why Dirtmouth Manor Misadventures exists in the first place, is a chance for me to just stick characters in a room and have them go ham about stuff.
• Did You Know? I got into Hollow Knight after hearing Vs Grimm, a cover of Troupe Master and Nightmare King Grimm's boss themes by Man On The Internet, and you'll notice a small snippet fo those lyrics made their way into The Blind Sun. The song has been my driving point of inspiration for the series, along with Sealed Vessel covers from various artists. As much as I want to include Vs Grimm in full later down the line with some lyric tweaks to match the scene, I'd rather not risk accidently breaking site rules regarding song lyrics. A shame, I can picture Grimm belting this out during his final show with The Moon.
