Interview with The Sleepless Beholder. · 7:19pm Aug 11th, 2021

Interview RP Format
Sleepless Beholder as Beholder.
Naliah as Snow Heart

Snow Heart

Snow Heart was sitting on her throne, lazily leaning over the side of it, groaning.
"I hate being a Princess. Why did this happen? Why me?"

No one was listening. The castle was empty. She was alone. Frost Heart had already left to do her own things, and now here she was, the ruler of this place and yet always alone. She sighed. She wished she had someone to talk to. ANYONE! She didn't even care who right now. She hit her hoof on her head, over and over, not noticing the strange darkness that was suddenly creeping around her, and pulling her in...

Beholder

In a small study, filled with a desk, a weird shaped bed, and lots of empty cups of coffee, a beholder floated with book held in it's telequinetic grasp. A dark portal opened up on the stone ceiling, and a figure fell from it on the bed.

"Uh? Did I recite the wrong spell?"

Snow Heart

Snow Heart landed on the bed with a thump! She blinked and looked towards the strange creature in front of her
"What the hay are you?" she asked bewildered, but oddly curious...*

Beholder

The beholder let the book down and faced his surprise visitor. "I'm a beholder who never sleeps. an artistic type and researcher of the arcane. And you would be....?"

Snow Heart

"I'm Snow Heart. It's nice to um meet you. Say, would you mind if I interviewed you? I never met a...what are you anyways?" Snow Heart asked, looking him up and down. So many tentacles. Eyes everywhere. It was kinda creepy, but strangely fascinating

Beholder

"Interview you say? This could provide some amusement. As I said, I'm a beholder. I see everything, study everything, and try to understand everything, even the arcane." The beholder grabs two fresh cups of coffee. "Care for a drink?"

Snow Heart

Snow starred. Beholder. More like weird tentacle thing with lots of eyes. "Coffee!" Snow let out a screeee of delight, taking the cup, and sipping at it, before pulling away, wings opening and her tongue hanging out for just a moment. "HOT"

Beholder

The beholder laughs. "You should be careful, rushing into things doesn't give good results." He takes a sip of his coffee "Now, about that interview."

Snow Heart

"You're right. I really should take my time with these things. I just get so excited when I get fresh coffee." Snow Heart smiled slightly. She nodded. "Yes, tell me how did you get into mlp?"

Beholder

"Uhm, that's a bit of a history. I saw an animation called Elements of Insanity, which sparked my curiosity. After that I found Rainbow Factory, then a comic called Lil Miss Rarity, which I loved, and after that Fallout Equestria which sent me to Fimfiction. There, with all the stories that site promised, I wanted to see the show to see where it all came from. The show itself was a bit... difficult to watch for personal reasons."

Snow Heart

Snow Heart listened with earnest interest. It was nice to have someone to talk with, even if that "someone" was a bit odd to say the least. But she was a pastel colored pony with bat wings and a horn. She couldn't complain too much
"Yeah, some of the espiodes espicially early ones are hard to get through. But I did enjoy most of them. I really didn't care for Season nine as a whole, but that's just me. Anyways, who is best character?"

Beholder

"It was mostly the happier one's. It was a time when friendship seemed impossible for me. Pinkie's smile song brought me to tears each time I watched it." He took a sip of coffee "My interest in the show stopped at the end of season six due to the finale being everything I wanted from the show. As to best character; if you mean pony, that's Trixie. If you mean villain, that Chrysalis, if you mean human, Sunset and Wallflower"

Snow Heart

"That's a lot of characters, and nothing wrong with loving them all. I sorta can understand that feeling. The happiness can be hard when you yourself are lonely. But it can be good too..." Snow Heart reached a hoof out to touch one of his many tentacles. "I never was good at making friends. I actually got my cutie mark by standing up for some pony I thought was my friend. Only to learn they were just using me...it hurt a lot." Snow admitted.

she sighed

"Sorry, this isn't about me. Let's continue. What inspires you to write?"

Beholder

"I know the feeling of betrayal, from one I thought loved me. It hurst, but other will come to help heal that wound. Don't give up on people, there're more like you than you think." Takes another sip "My inspiration has two sources; the stories of other's, and the most random thougths imaginable. sometimes a simple question can span into a three book long story. Aslo, sometimes my inspiration comes form my own experiences and thoughts about life."

Snow Heart

"I see. That's very interesting. Often ideas can come from a variety of places. Even things that have nothing to do with pastel colored ponies like me. It's always interesting to see the creativity of the ponies all around me, and watch them grow. Speaking of helping others, what advice might you give a new author?"

Beholder

"Take your time. Yuo might want to publish a story right after finishing it, but it's better for everyone that you take a day or at least one night away form it and make sure to correct mistakes and also if you can expand some parts of the story that could need the extra beef. Also, write what you know, and research what you don't. This is specially if you want to write about a heavy topic like suicide or mortality, make sure you know what you're talking about and handle the subject with respect."

Snow Heart

Snow Heart nodded.
"That is very good advice. Even well-known authors could learn a thing or two from that. Research, time, and effort helps to make a quality piece." Snow Heart sipped at her coffee. Now it was cool enough to be enjoyable but still hot. She looked back to the beholder.*

"So beholder, what do you do when you aren't grabbing ponies from other dimensions? (what do you do for fun, other than write?

Beholder

"Read if I have the time. I do art commissions if someone is looking, and play some games."

Snow Heart

"Ah, I see. Do you read mostly pony stories or do you branch out?"

Beholder

"Pony stories are the more convinient to read at the time so it's the only one's. Still, I have read and written things outside of pony. Mostly in my native language"

Snow Heart

Snow Heart nodded, and continued drinking her coffee. You know so far, hanging out with this beholder wasn't so bad, it was actually kinda nice. She relaxed to a sitting position on the bed, reclining back, and allowing her wingspan to relax at her sides

Beholder

"If you don't mind me asking, what exactly are you?" Beholder asked politely starring.

Snow Heart

"Me? Um, I'm a bat alicorn. Or baticorn." Snow tried to explain. "In my world, when a pony does an amazing feat they gain wings or a horn, depending on the race they were born as. I was born a unicorn, so I gained wings. Thankfully I had a pegusus sister to help me with that."

Beholder

"Interesting, what amazing feat did you perform to become this alibat?"

Snow Heart

"That would be spoilers." Snow Heart giggled and winked behind the beholder. "And I'm a firm believer in no spoilers, so you'll have to wait and see. However, is there anything you'd like to tell me about you? The writer?"

Beholder

"Hmmm not sure what you mean by that. But I must say, as ironic as it may be considering what I told you about watching the show, this site, the friends I made here, and the stories I've read and written have helped me be genuinely happy with my life after some very rough times."

Snow Heart

Snow Heart nodded and pondered to herself. Did she dare?
"Is there anything you'd like to ask me?"

Beholder

The beholder thought for a moment "Are you happy with who you are?"

Snow Heart

"Honestly? No." Snow Heart began. "But I'd rather not talk about it."

Beholder

The beholder moved his head in a nod "I understand, but knwo that keeping it to yourself cna be hurtful. Speaking about your problems is a way of venting some of that pressure." the beholder then then closed his eyes in concentration and a white necklace of a snowflake with the shape of a heart appeared in the air "Here, take this as a token of good fortune."

Snow Heart

Snow Heart accepted the heart, and smiled ever so slightly "Don't worry."

She moved towards him, wrapping her hooves around his shoulders and giving the strange creature a hug
"I am glad I got the chance to talk with you, but if you don't mind. I'd like to go home now. I'm sure my little sister will be worried. Is there anything else you'd like to say?"

Beholder

"Good luck in the future, and I hope you can inspire people to do what they like." I open the portal back to your castle "Goodbye"

I know some of you may ask but "Nailah I thought you were done with interviews?"
Yes, I am but this one is an old one that never got posted and I must correct this error on my part. I'm deeply sorry to The Sleepless Beholder that it took so long for this to become reality. Please, if you have the time, go follow this sweet guy. He's truly so sincere and patient.
