50 years without a title. 12 consecutive years between 1980 and 1991 of reaching the playoffs but never making the Finals. Later, a long, long stretch of either no playoffs or first-round disappointments.
2018-19 and 2019-20, dominated the league with a 1st-place finish, only to lose in the playoffs yet again.
But now, in 2021, is when the Milwaukee Bucks have finally done it. They are NBA champions at long last.
Bucks fans, congratulations. You deserve every moment of this. Congratulations to the organization and the players who orchestrated this run! An incredibly hard task accomplished. This title-clinching game in particular, congratulations to Giannis Antetokounmpo! 50 points?!?!
I dedicate this blog to Promiscuous Boy, a Bucks fan who recently returned to Fimfiction. Couldn't be happier for you! I can only imagine what it feels like to see your team win it all; as a fan of the Hornets, Panthers, Canes, and Wolfpack... I remain empty-handed. Even with the Canes' Stanley Cup in 2006; that doesn't count in my case because I wasn't a fan of the team yet.
And the NC State basketball titles in 1974 and 1983... wasn't born yet.
