My ideal video game · 4:26am Jul 12th, 2021
So I've given some thought into what my ideal video game would be, and here's a basic rundown of what I would want to see in a video game before I die.
1. Make it an M-rated, turn-based RPG with a contemporary setting.
2. Make the main character and monster designs inspired by a combination of horror and extreme metal
3. Have the main characters take their journey seriously. No stupid humor or perverted shenanigans: just sheer focus and concentration on the task at hand.
4. Have the environments be dark and eerie as shit.
5. Have a creative, original, and cohesive plot to keep the players invested. A good example would be my non-MLP stories where the central character becomes a God to create a utopian version of Earth by having a friendly sparring match with the universe's core.
6. Have the music be a mix of clean metalcore instrumentals and the heavy stuff.
7. Make gameplay fun and diverse with unique mechanics, extras, and innovative mini-games.
8. Give players the option to become overpowered with source/seal style items from Shadow Hearts and Final Fantasy 7.
I'm aware this particular style of game would probably flop commercially, but I know for a fact it would gain a cult following just for being daring enough to try something different. Seeing the same recycled stuff over and over wears on my mind after a while. It's made gaming stale and not as fun as it was when I was a kid.
