An Odd Type of Villain · 3:09pm Jul 9th, 2021
Hello everyone,
In one of my previous blogs, I talked about villains, and the different types my own villains fall into. But there was a subject about one of my villains that I didn't cover, and I'd like some feedback on.
For anyone that's read the Displaced Tournament (Presented by Hetap) or Logan and Carol; the Wolves of Equestria, they know that my OC Luco is kind of off his rocker . He disrupts the peace, causes trouble for others and is generally a massive troll. But why is he doing all of this, you might wonder?
Well, this may be a risky maneuver, but the idea I wanted to use is that he knows about us. The readers. He's aware that we read stories involving him and the others, and he looks on us as sort of like Gods. In his mind, his world only has meaning when we get interested in the conflicts and chaos of his world. So he's determined to appease us by causing as much havoc as he can, so that we'll continue to read about him and give his life meaning. He's not interested in taking over the world or getting revenge; he just wants endless conflict so we'll keep coming back.
Personally, I thought this was a rather unique motivation, and I tried to disguise it a bit in the canon book I'm working on with him regularly talking about his 'Gods' instead of saying 'the readers,' but I was curious what others would think of this rather odd motivation.
Please let me know what you think? Is he interesting for wanting your attention? Or would knowing he's after your attention in particular just turn you off to reading the books involving him? Let me know, and as always, thank you for your time.
I think that's a very interesting idea.
