Bout time for an update, eh?

Not a big enough update to qualify for Rabbit Tracks, but this is just to say: Work is continueing on "Just a Pony", albeit slowly. Two more chapters down, then I got sidetracked by videogames, now I'm sidetracked by homework and sickness, and then hopefully back to "Just a Pony" soon!

    Irony

I tried to write a blog about how I haven't been able to write. I accidentally hit ctrl+r and refreshed the page, losing everything I had written. A cruel bit of irony. I am tired and angry with myself and scared for my future as a writer and I do not have the energy to retype it, so pretend there is some sincere and heartfelt explanation here and you're moved by the struggles of some weird

Pictures should be fixed across all stories

At this point if anyone is seeing broken images in my fics on Fimfiction please let me know! For anyone looking for a new image hosting site with Discord having done the Big Suck, I used Postimages and it was rather simple and efficient.

    Image hosting

Real quick, I know my images are all borked again; what are folks using for image hosting these days? Needs to be free and the less likely it is to implode the better... I was using Discord until just recently which is why this mess happened lmao

    Becoming myself

It's a bit strange that I've spent days trying to figure out how to write this. It's such a big thing and I want to get that across to y'all, but I never will. So I'm just going to rip off the bandaid and get this out there. Because something amazing happened to me.

New Looking Glass review, and I've been involved in a (non-writing) charity project · 11:25pm Jul 1st, 2021

Hey, so, first off let's start with the fact that PaulAsaran has done a review of Looking Glass! A while back he did a review of my story Great and Powerful, Darling! and had issues with the pacing (which were fair) and I pointed out that I've never fully gotten the hang of pacing shorter stories, and am better at novels. To that end, it makes me very happy that he's read and reviewed one of my novels. If you've read LG (which most of you here have) then check it out for a bit of nostalgia, if not, check it out for incentive to do that.

Secondly, I've been working on a musical compilation album. A friend of mine runs the non-profit record label Wicked Entry, and he compiled his second compilation album for the label, with all proceeds going to charity (the California Wildlife Recovery Fund as most of the artists and the label are based in California). The music is indie/alternative rock, all smaller artists. I wasn't involved in the digital version, but I had the idea of making a physical cassette version. So I hand manufactured 25 cassettes of the comp myself, and I'll be mailing them out to anyone who gets one. You can buy the digital release for $4 a piece or the cassette for $5 plus $5 for shipping within the US (idk how shipping to other countries work, but it should be calculated by Bandcamp). 100% of the digital proceeds go to the Wildlife Recovery Fund, and once we recoup the cost of making the cassettes (should take about 12 cassette sales) then all proceeds of the cassette sales will also go to charity.

You can stream and/or buy the album on Bandcamp here. For some highlights, check out "Sightseeing in San Franciso" by "Two Bears High Fiving" and "Barrington" by "Bess Egerton".

Cool.

Now let’s make a Broadway adaptation of it.

Coincidentally, I've just finished listening to your own reading of 'Looking Glass' on youtube a few days before. If you like, I will find some time to write a review about it in the story comment. It's not gonna be very positive like PaulAsaran's review though, so I understand if you don't want to have it.

Sure, if you want to! Whatever your feelings of the story, I'm open to hearing them.
