My Little Pony Merchandise News 06/24/2021 · 1:37pm Jun 24th, 2021

Buckle up, Bronies and Pegasisters! We're coming very, very soon!

GOOD MORNING, FIMFICTION FANATICS!!! This is the Dramamaster829; Critic, Actor, Writer, Motivational Speaker and Occasional Singer keeping you up to date with the latest news for the Generation 5 movie and beyond! Before we proceed, I do want to acknowledge that 'yes' it has been months since my previous blog post surrounding anything Gen 5 related. But rather than doing a standard 'upcoming film news' review or highlighting any details surrounding the movie itself, instead this is more of a merchandising discussion surrounding the news of upcoming toys and such that are already in preparation to hit the market. But if you pay very close attention faithful viewers, I guarantee that somewhere amongst the items that may or may not pique your interest, we do have some 'possible' news that surrounds 'when' the movie 'may' come out.

And even if you, I know somebody who'd already be interested in buying MLP related products:

All bask in my amazingness!

*Frowns* Don't overdo it with the ego thing, dude. *Clears throat* Anyways, let's proceed with some of the merchandising news with a brief overview of some of the items noted to come out (If not already):

Suddenly I can see why fans were nervous about the 2D approach.

Sometime earlier this year, word of a bed sheet featuring three of its cast mates were promoted for an online store (Whom turn out to be Izzy, Pipp, and Sunny, one of whom being a fan favorite). Etsy apparently started a listing for this sticker sheet not only offering brand new poses for some of its casts, but at the time provided a first look of characters like Zipp & Hitch (If we don't count Hitch's earlier animation on the facebook page). Apart from offering us a slight detailed look at their cutie marks (Though whether they always had them or obtain them 'later' in the movie remains to be determined), this is an easy pick up just to have kids decorate their folders or backpacks. And don't even get me started on the face-painting ordeal:

Although to be fair, this would be great for birthday parties.

And continuing with the previous post surrounding some plush toys, the Spanish plush company 'Play by Play' features their own line of plush toys based on the characters of the upcoming film. And judging solely by appearances alone, it's easy to imagine why kids will go crying to their parents to buy these:

I just wanna hug 'em and squeeze 'em till the fluff pops out!

*Pause* Yeah, that's not going to creep out your friends when you say that...

*Clears throat* Now of course some fans would prefer to create their own plush toys of these characters, even though we scarcely known anything about them (Other than this one announcement that apparently Hitch is a Sheriff) but anything to add to a Brony's collection and they will go for it. I have no doubt about any of that.

And while fans may not be fans of the Target shopping stores, the store itself is already selling G5 pajamas to promote the fashion line for the upcoming movie. The specific demographic of the customers aiming to seek this line of wear, amongst some costume listings centered on the characters, will most definitely come flocking for their own purchase of these available materials. Feel free to simply peruse around and anything that tickles your fancy we can only hope they are worth the purchase:

Least you'll never feel left out when you're with all friends for the big G5 Slumber Watch parties, I guarantee this.

As we scour down the list of upcoming material promoting the upcoming release, we skip on down to the toy line section where Hasbro is at it's strongest pique in terms of business relations. As we all know, when it comes to the toys they market, there's no coincidence that most of what they sell is what likely may be featured in the movie (Although at one point we had a Purple Celestia and that didn't make the cut). But judging based on appearances of these figures, even though you'll mainly find them on a German website, it's almost easy to imagine the background of our cast as we study their possible personalities and hobbies.

Well, least it's not the Rainbow Factory.

According to the source material, Izzy Moonbow is a unicorn from the Bridlewood forest, thereby indicating the home of the unicorns themselves. An energetic optimist who enjoys handicrafts (Particularly glittery), which implies she uses her handicrafts specialties...

*Offscreen* Shouldn't it be 'hooves'...

SHUT UP!!! *Continues* ... which implies she uses her specialties around cute, colorful furry animals. And if she's like this back at home, just imagine when she encounters the flying Pomeranian from the Pegasus nation.

Definitely think Sunny and E.G. Applejack would definitely get along in this field.

There's plenty of information we already know when it comes to Sunny Starscout (But being I'm slightly stubborn, I'll repeat myself yet again). An Earth pony from Maretime Bay best described as, but not limited to, curious, adventurous, and determined to make the world a better place.

Wow... 'very' original...

Wow we don't know for certain if Sunny actually has a job running a smoothie car, I can almost imagine a possible scenario where she gets a little carried away with her work, she makes a 'literal' big spill around the town, and wouldn't you know that it's no wonder she's considered the black sheep in her own hometown. Like the previous product with Izzy Moonbow, there's at least over 20 something parts that the kids can play around with and a few story scenes setting the stage of what to expect with our upcoming feature. By this point, all we can do is use these examples as a means to speculate over what's still to come.

As a follow-up to the toyline department, the Generation 5 Merchandise grows with the addition of playsets, blindbags (Calendar form), brushables, and general figures. Hardly anything more I can say at this point since it's not uncommon to know of MLP merchandising in the general department stores, but anyone looking for new buys may find some of these models very fascinating. Whether or not you decide to buy them and support the business is entirely up to you overall:

What's in the Crystal Ball?

Consider this as practice for future hairstylists amongst our viewers.

In other news, movie books from publisher Harper Collins not only indicate a sneak peak of one of the locations the film will be set in, but it also confirms a likely streaming date for Netflix. Which is good considering that the synopsis and overall page count of the books (Aside from one offering stickers) will pretty much give you the same story we already know. But to be fair, the covers are slightly cute:

Though the facial work is definitely a give or take.

An important note to keep in mind is that they both claim, and I quote,

Available to stream on Netflix starting September 24, 2021

Those who know me very well, the same as every other FimFic member on this site, I look at this information and take it by a grain of salt. Because until news of an upcoming trailer, or even a teaser, eventually comes out, nothing is really confirmed until what they claim to be happening is true. Though it seems like the most trailers we get particularly with something 'slightly' MLP related is Meghan McCarthy working on the upcoming 'Centaur World' which to me is best described as 'Adventure Time' mixed with 'Steven Universe' and probably a bit of 'She-Ra'.

I'm still debating whether to do a discussion blog about this or not.

As we prepare to put this blog to a close, one other piece of merchandising news that slightly has my attention concerns a particular playset that involves a certain 'Princess Pip' with her very own slide castle (And a slight image of the aforementioned Flying Pomeranian):

Just wait till they start one of those tube water slides.

With not much to work on given the source of this particular article leaves little description to work with, based on a measure of interpretation on some of the details, we at the very least get a slight idea of the princess life that Pip leads (Though why a Pegasus would need slides I'll never know). Also worth mentioning is the puzzle sets which slightly give subtle details of the towns and locations we hope to see prior to the movie's official release (In addition to the 3x49 5+ puzzle pieces included):

Upon closer inspection, it appears to be part of the Bridlewood Forest Izzy is rumored to be.

Overall, Hasbro and the various companies they are associated with are definitely pressing hard on this upcoming G5 film (And it's upcoming series) hoping to lure in the crowds with their latest merchandising run. Whether the younger demographic will actually 'play' with most of these toys or if the older demographic will merely take them just to add their mint-condition material to their collection, least there's no doubt in my mind where all that money is going to. If not just to increase the funding needed to increase their merchandising line-up, at the very least we can only hope a slight portion of the funding will go to make this Gen5 the biggest sensation since the debut of G4 (After a disastrous G3 run most of us would rather forget). Despite the fact we are still waiting for the teaser of a movie we honestly still don't know anything about, at least with most of these supplies we do get the 'slightest' idea as to what we can expect moving forward. And, I know what most of you are thinking, the bigger question remains:

What do you think? Be sure to leave a comment below at your earliest convenience.

Until then faithful viewers, this is the Dramamaster829... signing off.

Oh... and before I go, anyone interested in some new wallpaper for your computer I highly recommend this 'adorable' Sunny Starscout image if you managed to reach the end of this blog:

How delightful!!!
Please just get this so I can make him shut up!

I thought nobody would 'ever' comment on this post. I mean I admit it contrasts to my usual blog where I briefly go over the merchandise in relation to G5 and 'barely' talking about the movie. But I got bored that day and decided to put a little something together. Least it's got a decent number of views.
