How powerful would the nation of Rohan in Middle Earth be if they had MLP FIM ponies? Big enough to carry a human at least. Would they be able to significantly aid Gondor against Mordor and other forces of evil with their new highly intelligent cavalry units? (also earth ponies, pegasi, and unicorns among the ponies ranks, and the rare alicorn) Also consider, the ponies might have romantic relationships with their human rider, so they would fight even harder. Rohan are the finest horsemen of all Middle Earth, and are a great force against Sauron's evil.
Theoden, the King of Rohan's steed is Princess Celestia. Celestia is the royal steed of every new king of Rohan.
I think that's a no-brainer, really. And ponies wouldn't leave their friends in Gondor hanging, I'm sure. That said, ponies are prolly smart enough not to want to charge into a wall of spears, so a lot of conventional horse tactics wouldn't apply.

They would send Mordor's vast hosts of darkness back into the land of shadow for sure and force them to be defensive. And if they find the One Ring, they could help the Fellowship greatly to destroy it.

I'm also now imagining the ponies setting up a friendly base in Dol Amroth. (a place in Gondor where the finest cavalry units are) I now imagine the Swan Knights with ponies as their steeds. XD

Honestly makes me want to see if there exist any decent LOTR crossovers. Odds are they're all based on the movies, though. Don't get me wrong, the films were great, but there's so much more rich lore.
