maybe in a world of odd people and odd things, I'm not so odd after all. But who knows. (they/them)

OK, I want to have a semi-moan at the fandom regarding G5. It's nothing too serious, but I still thought it was worth discussing. No, it's very serious.

Twilight is the Bearer of the Element of Magic and the Princess of Friendship, correct?

She becomes the sole ruler of Equestria, correct?

The fandom had a go at Hasbro because they didn't like the idea of her outliving her friends, right?

Sombra destroyed the Elements of Harmony, right?

The answer is yes to all 4 questions above. They might seem a bit random, but hear me out.

Every other time something has happened to previous Element Bearers, there's been somepony to pick up the baton afterwards. When the Pillars went to Limbo, Celestia and Luna took on the responsibility of looking after the Elements of Harmony. When Luna got exiled for 1000 years, Celestia looked after all of the Elements. Then the Mane 6 became the new Element Bearers, and then Sombra decided to stop that cycle by destroying the Elements and the Tree of Harmony.
Aaaaaaaaaand?
I'm getting on to that point.

We had the Young 6 appear out of nowhere, and they seemed to represent the Elements of Harmony. But they never actually got to use the Elements of Harmony before Sombra destroyed them. However, Celestia and Luna lost their connection to the Elements way back in Season 2, which is how Discord escaped. That means that the Mane 6 can't pass on the responsibility of looking after the Elements to a younger generation. Now, this wouldn't be a problem ordinarily. Alicorns can live for thousands of years, so as long as Twilight remains alive, Equestria still has the magic of friendship and the Elements of Harmony to protect it, right?

But you lot had a go at Hasbro and said it wouldn't make sense if Twilight outlived her friends!

So, we have Twilight give up the throne early to Luster Dawn, who a) isn't really prepared when she takes the throne and b) doesn't have any control over the Elements of Harmony. Celestia and Luna aren't going to be around forever, and neither are the Pillars of Old Equestria, and if Twilight and her friends are all gone too, all of the Bearers of the Elements of Harmony, plus the Elements themselves, there's no more rainbow lasers to defend Equestria.

Now, since Celestia and Luna are gone and their magic has died with them, let's say that weakens the spell on the Villain Statue enough for the Legion of Doom to escape, or some new threat appears and tries to take all of Equestria's magic...
They would win.
Exactly.

So why am I ranting and raving? Because some ponies didn't want Twilight to outlive her friends, not knowing that if she didn't it would condemn Equestria to doom and make everything a lot more difficult for poor Sunny Starscout and her friends. So, Season 9 haters. Your actions have doomed Equestria and its ponies who you supposedly care about. Are you happy now?! :flutterrage::raritycry::rainbowderp::twilightangry2::pinkiesad2::ajbemused:

... Sorry, I had to get that out of my system. Once I thought of it, I couldn't un-think it, and it makes so much sense that I can't see any other way that this could have happened to Equestria. If I'm right, it probably won't be phrased exactly that way in the movie, but because people and ponies let little things bother us, rifts can form and the magic of friendship can be weakened. Because Luster Dawn didn't truly understand friendship and wasn't taught enough before Twilight's death, she allowed dark forces to take her kingdom.

Please find some proof that I'm wrong.

Not really. We watched Equestria flourish in FiM and then it all went down the drain. It's probably got nothing to do with the fandom, but I can't help bet feel a sense of shame. After all Twilight and the Mane 6 did, this still happened to the Equestria we know and love. :fluttershysad:

That is a lot to take in when you say it all at once...

I know. Sorry about that. But I feel like I owe something to the ponies we've all come to know and love, as if something that I did somehow resulted in the closest thing we've ever seen to a dystopian Equestria. It's silly, I know, but I can't shake the thought away.

It's not silly at all. I just never thought of it that way before...

Uh... what now?

Because nopony tried hard enough at friendship, true friendship basically ceased to exist.

In-universe, right?

nooooooooooooooo!! NOT EQUESTRIA !!!!!!! :fluttercry::pinkiegasp::ajsleepy::rainbowhuh::raritydespair::unsuresweetie::applecry::scootangel::eeyup::twilightangry2::trollestia:

Eeeeeyup. And I'm not having a go at everyone who didn't like Season 9, but it almost feels like this was influenced by forces outside of FiM who weren't happy with Twilight's ascension to the throne, ie the ones who go around making pointless campaigns like Fix Season 9 of FiM and We want Season 10.

My thoughts exactly. Our poor little ponies. :fluttershysad:

Fix Season 9 of FiM

We want Season 10.
ok, i want season 10, but like slice of life stories with twi ruling and an ending when, after thousands of years, when the world can funcion without an alicorn, twi steps down, gives up her crown or title or whatever and dissolves away with tia and lulu, who stayed behind to support her, and is reunited with all the friends she's made the thousands of years and in the center are the main 5 and everyone is moved to tears at their joyful reunion, the end. Not ' ahem ' THIS:twilightangry2:

I know. Season 10 would be nice, but Hasbro aren't going to make it and Season 9 is now canon. And if they were going to do a season 10, they wouldn't allow Equestria to basically turn into a dystopia.
