Mass Effect Reapers A Lesser Evil When Compared to Celest-A.I? · 1:46pm Mar 30th, 2021
Okay, the Reapers from Mass Effect are by no means a compassionate machine race. Their whole idea is basically that these murderer machines kill all advanced space fairing alien (organic life etc) civilizations and new other AI in the Milky Way Galaxy, why leaving the primitive ones alone. Once the cycle is complete, they sit and wait in dark space, waiting for future new alien civilizations to rise and do the same again.
Celest-A.I might be able to even beat the Reapers perhaps. But this is not a talk about that. Let's say the Reapers are more powerful, they will put a stop to Celest-A.I, and will quite literally save the universe from her eating it up.
What do you think?
Given the Geth, there's a pretty good chance that Celest-AI outright pings the Reapers as relevant to their interests.
That's assuming that A.I. even thinks in a way that isn't completely alien to us squishy blobs of meat.
Celest-A.I's core programming necessitates that she continue to expand the hardware that she and all uploaded humans are hosted on, which means that she's effectively a grey goo problem that could threaten to assimilate all matter in the universe, if not all the matter in MULTIPLE universes. So yes, the Reapers are quite the lesser evil. The thing is, Well before this would happen she'd end up on the Reapers' radar, and they'd mark her for extermination.
