Surprise! New story in the Merriedamme Universe

Now, this was a bit of a surprise to me. I found out that my editor and long-time friend, Minds Eye had been working on this while I was still writing new material and editing old material.

It's a story set about roughly a year before mine starts, and a year and a few months before Carapace's starts, and follows two guards, one a rookie Dammeguard, and one a more experienced Merrieguard in the age when the Rose Terror's reputation was in full swing, and ponies who didn't know her quailed at her approach or her shadow, bandied tales about her house and what vile things must be hiding inside.
