Mortal Kombat vs. EG, Round Two · 4:48am Feb 13th, 2021

Hey everyone. Hope you all are having an okay time as we go further into February.
Since my earlier blog post with fanmade banter for the Mortal Kombat roster proved to get some decent response from my watchers, I decided to follow it up with another batch of fight dialogue.
This batch will be a little more organized than my previous list, as compared to the first time where I just picked characters as the ideas came to me, I tried to work up an actual list of kombatants I hadn't used in the first go-round too much.
So with all that being said, let's dive in.
First up - an array of matchups against the last Osh-Tekk, and former ruler of Outworld, Kotal Kahn.
Kotal Kahn: “You once sought to conquer your own people.”
Sunset Shimmer: “Until Princess Twilight showed me there was a better way.”
Kotal Kahn: “Osh-Tekk justice is not so forgiving.”
Fluttershy: “You’d execute someone for stealing bread?”
Kotal Kahn: “Petty crime is but a gateway to greater sins.”
Fluttershy: “That way of thinking can drive someone to just as great evil.”
Kotal Kahn: “You have not set your head.”
Princess Twilight: “Who I am to be ruler of all Equestria?”
Kotal Kahn: “Only its greatest defender, Twilight.”
Pinkie Pie: "Aww, do we really have to fight?"
Kotal Kahn: "In kombat, our truest selves are revealed."
Pinkie Pie: "I think a party would be a more fun way of doing that!"
Kotal Kahn: "I admire your dedication to family."
Applejack: "Every day, I hope to do my best by them."
Kotal Kahn: "You would have made a fine Osh-Tekk."
Sunset Shimmer: “You look surprised.”
Kotal Kahn: “Where is the champion that Celestia spoke of?”
Sunset Shimmer: “Front and center, Kotal.”
Kotal Kahn: “No vultures may roost in my court.”
Adagio Dazzle: “Aww. You think I’m a vulture?”
Kotal Kahn: “Your honeyed words do not fool me, Siren.”
Rarity: “You carried out massacres of an entire people?!”
Kotal Kahn: “A mistake that will hang over me always.”
Rarity: “As well it should!”
Then - banter involving Cetrion, the Elder Goddess of Light and Virtue. She's also a stoolie for Kronika, the mad Titan of Time, as well.
Cetrion: “There are few things more beautiful than redemption.”
Sunset Shimmer: “Then practice what you preach, Cetrion.”
Cetrion: “How? I have not strayed from my path.”
Fluttershy: "How could you follow someone like Kronika?"
Cetrion: "Mother's vision was the only path to balance Light and Dark."
Fluttershy: "There's nothing virtuous about an endless war."
Cetrion: "There is no virtue in your heart."
Aria Blaze: "And I'm supposed to care because?"
Cetrion: "Repent, or face an Elder God's judgment."
Applejack: “You’re really Shinnok’s sister?”
Cetrion: “He and I were stewards of Kronika’s vision.”
Applejack: “Guess there’s no such thing as ‘family resemblance’ for Elder Gods.”
Cetrion: “Your actions tore the fabric of Time asunder.”
Starlight Glimmer: “I’m done apologizing for my mistakes.”
Cetrion: “Then submit, and accept your punishment.”
Timber Spruce: “You, are the god in charge of virtue?”
Cetrion: “Be mindful of your tone, child.”
Timber Spruce: “No wonder your universe is so messed up.”
Some nasty customers coming up next. First up is the multi-armed and dangerous Kollector--
Kollector: "That crown will make an excellent tribute."
Princess Twilight: "The Element of Magic isn't for sale, to anyone."
Kollector: "I do not intend to pay."
Rainbow Dash: "Wait a minute. Are you ogling me?"
Kollector: "Calculating the worth of your parts."
Rainbow Dash: "I just had to ask."
Kollector: "Do you value your sister?"
Rarity: "You stay away from Sweetie Belle, you horrible fiend!"
Kollector: "A resounding yes, I see."
Adagio Dazzle: “Are you for hire, by any chance?”
Kollector: “Doing what, Siren?”
Adagio Dazzle: “Record executive’s holding out on me.”
Kollector: “You must pay tribute to Shao Kahn.”
Flash Sentry: “He’s not my emperor, nor will he ever be.”
Kollector: “You pay with gold, boy, or with blood.”
Fluttershy: “You’re going to give back everything you’ve taken.”
Kollector: “It is tribute, as owed to the Kahn.”
Fluttershy: “It’s robbery, Kollector. Nothing more.”
And then, after him, the loutish Black Dragon ringleader Kano.
Kano: *snickers* “You some kinda white knight?”
Flash Sentry: “Just a guy hoping to do some good.”
Kano: “Well ain’t you just precious.”
Adagio Dazzle: "Where are those new amulets you promised?"
Kano: "Delivery's gotten mucked up, see. And expensive."
Adagio Dazzle: "You think you can cheat a Siren and get away with it?"
Kano: "Ever thought about all the tail around ya?"
Flash: "No, because I actually respect women."
Kano: "Talk about a lack of imagination."
Rainbow Dash: "You don't care about anyone but yourself."
Kano: "That's not true... oh wait, yeah, it is."
Rainbow Dash: "Taking you down will do everyone a favor."
Kano: “Shoulda taken the offer, sweetheart.”
Rarity: “Did you really think I’d turn on my friends for money?”
Kano: “You’d be surprised what blokes’ll do to make bank.”
Starlight Glimmer: “You stole the Alicorn Amulet for Shang Tsung."
Kano: “Guilty as charged, love."
Starlight Glimmer: “Both of you would make *lovely* statues..."
Kano: "Now why'd you turn down my offer, eh?"
Trixie: "The Great and Powerful Trrrixie is no sellout."
Kano: "Trixie clearly isn't thinking big enough."
Now though, on to some more heroic types. Like the high-kicking Shaolin monk, Liu Kang.
Liu Kang: “Are you prepared to fight for your cause?”
Princess Twilight: “For my friends, to save lives? Yes.”
Liu Kang: “Then let us begin.”
Adagio Dazzle: "Oh my, aren't you an attractive one?"
Liu Kang: "Sorry, I'm already spoken for."
Adagio Dazzle: *chuckles* "You'll be singing a different tune very shortly."
Liu Kang: “A little patience can go a long way, you know.”
Rainbow Dash: “Ugh, not you too! Everyone tells me that!”
Liu Kang: “Ever wonder if there’s a reason why?”
Aria Blaze: "Ugh, another preachy goody-two-shoes."
Liu Kang: "I have no qualms with lethal force, if necessary."
Aria Blaze: "Heh. Finally, someone with a spine."
Liu Kang: “Hope you came to train, Flash Sentry."
Flash Sentry: “I'm done training. I'm ready for a real fight!"
Liu Kang: “If that is what you want, so be it."
Pinkie Pie: “Ooh, can you use those flames to cook with?"
Liu Kang: “That would not be proper use of my fire, Pinkie."
Pinkie Pie: “Aww! What's the point of magic powers if you can't have some fun?"
After him, there's the master of cold, Sub-Zero himself.
Sub-Zero: "You have an older brother?"
Applejack: "Big Mac's the greatest brother I could have asked for."
Sub-Zero: "Your family has done well by you."
Sub-Zero: “Are you prepared to learn the ways of kombat?”
Pinkie Pie: “I think so. Is it gonna be fun?”
Sub-Zero: “You have much to learn, Pinkamena Pie.”
Fluttershy: “Did, um, you really disavow your brother?”
Sub-Zero: “Bi-Han is dead to me, for his crimes against the realms.”
Fluttershy: “And I thought Zephyr Breeze was a pain…”
Sub-Zero: “Here to face the Grandmaster?”
Rainbow Dash: “Here to kick your butt, rather!”
Sub-Zero: “Unlikely, Rainbow Dash.”
Rainbow Dash: “I once spent two days as a snowman for a sneak attack!”
Sub-Zero: “Am I supposed to be impressed by that statement?”
Rainbow Dash: “Seriously? Jeez, everybody’s a critic.”
One more antagonist in the mix here, though. Kronika's chief enforcer; the immortal, undying golem, Geras.
Geras: “Your parents will live, in the New Era.”
Applejack: “If Kronika can bring them back, then why’d they have to die to begin with?”
Geras: “Mind your place, mortal.”
Pinkie Pie: “Is it true that you’re really immortal?”
Geras: “This is my billionth life cycle.”
Pinkie Pie: “Whoa! I’d need a LOT of candles for that cake.”
Geras: “You are not the first Rainbow Dash I have faced."
Rainbow Dash: “Maybe not the first, but I am the fastest!"
Geras: “So spoke all the others..."
This one batch was an experiment. I decided to try giving Geras the same opening line against the three different Sirens, and see how it would play off of their personalities.
Geras: “You scheme to take power for yourself.”
Adagio: “Why, whatever would give you that idea?”
Geras: “Treachery and ambition are in your nature, Siren.”
Geras: “You scheme to take power for yourself.”
Aria: “Well, duh. Surprised?”
Geras: “Only that it took you this long.”
Geras: “You scheme to take power for yourself.”
Sonata: “What?! Who ratted me out—I mean, no, never!”
Geras: “You are a wretched excuse for a liar, Sonata Dusk.”
To close us out, I present to you a set of banter involving Sonya Blade of the Special Forces.
Sonya Blade: "Think you've got what it takes?"
Flash Sentry: "I want to do everything I can to help Sunset and her friends."
Sonya Blade: "Get ready to put that to the test."
Sonya Blade: “Good soldiers have each other’s backs.”
Rainbow Dash: “I’d never leave my friends!”
Sonya Blade: “Then stop rushing into every fight on your own.”
Rarity: “I assure you, Lieutenant Blade, this is really unnecessary!"
Sonya Blade: “Magic's no good if you don't have reflexes."
Rarity: “Well! I suppose I must simply prove myself then!"
Sonya Blade: “Ever thought about enlisting?"
Sunset Shimmer: “You think I'm Special Forces material?"
Sonya Blade: "Fight me and let's find out."
Applejack: “This a friendly spar?”
Sonya Blade: “No such thing as ‘friendly’ in a hot spot, kid.”
Applejack: “If that’s how you’d like it, fine by me.”
Sonya Blade: “I’m sorry, your power is making sugar explode?”
Pinkie Pie: “Yep! Sprinkles and sugar make everything better!!”
Sonya Blade: “Gonna be keeping my eyes on you.”
And there you have it, folks.

Not gonna lie, I think I may actually have an idea for turning this into a story.

Hehe, yeah. It just sort of felt like the quip that had to be made, and I couldn't see Aria making it, or Sonata really thinking it up. Plus Adagio seemed like the one who'd probably appreciate Liu Kang (shirtless muscular kung-fu guy) the most out of the Sirens. XD
