I still exist! · 3:28am Jan 6th, 2021
Hi all! So uh...I've been gone for a bit, heh...
I have to admit, I'm not 100% certain what my future is as far as writing goes. I've had absolutely no inspiration whatsoever since I put my most recent story out in August. Besides the little bouts of depression that I've been dealing with, the majority of my focus when I'm not at work has been going to video games, board games, and Blaseball, which I mentioned in my previous blog. I would really like to continue writing MLP stuff, but I just haven't had the inspiration to do so, and I don't feel right forcing it, as even if it did result in a finished product, said finished product would likely be of a quality that I wasn't satisfied with.
So...with any luck, I will find my inspiration once more. I still adore MLP, read the occasional story here and there, and even look back at my own stuff to reminisce on how nice it was when I was able to be productive.
My apologies to anyone who might have been disappointed at my not being around...if anyone noticed, heh. Hopefully I'll be putting something out eventually!
I’m sorta in the same boat as you are. Production of FimFics is down, idle time watching YouTube is up. I’ve got ideas, it’s the commitment to actually writing them and then editing them that’s sorta suffering. Obviously, not completely, but anyways, point is now that we’ve reached the 13th decade of 2020 remembering to do things like put on pants is an accomplishment.
<looks down>
<”ah, crap.”>
Anyway, I suck at inspirational speeches. I’m good at finding cute pony pictures, though.

Ray Bradbury mentions letting the ideas for stories follow you, and when they least expect it, snatch them up. I write my latest stories based around this principle. It's because I write from experiences, converting these events into my life into a form of expression via ponies and writing. Especially evident in my last two fics.
What I'm getting here is not to think to hard about it, chasing the inspiration and ideas only to get fed up and tired. You let it come to you, giving you the homefield advantage.
Yeah, I know what that's like... Most of my time is spent studying for my HVAC classes and other stuff to keep my stress low. Writing isn't as relaxing as it used to be, so I can understand at least in part what it's like. I hope you feel better, and just know that you'll always have friends -or at least random acquaintances- here.
I hope to play board games with you Irl someday
I know exactly how you feel. Hope you can write again soon.
