GM thinks too hard about Smash Bros and goes insane. · 8:40pm Dec 14th, 2020

Curious as to what that title means? Well, then your service is requested here:

Hmm... I might get a Space Battles account to contribute to this.

For now, I'm going to say this here so I don't forget it: what if every deity in a Nintendo game is a creation of the Hands?

Same, But Honestly, I'd use the old Captain N lore (retooled for the new Millennium) To connect EVERYTHING, not only Smash

Alternate title: "GM is told specifically not to do a thing by people worried for his sanity and then does that thing anyway"

I look forward to bashing my head against the wall trying to get the pieces to fit, because that is the life we've all chosen.

I don't dig too deep into it. To me, the whole SSB universe is just a child's toy box. We get a glimpse of this in Melee's Classic and Adventure Modes. After the fight is won, the kid's mom calls him down to supper, he drops his toy, and we see his room. It's like the opening scenes from the Toy Story movies.

Subspace Emissary is essentially the Toy Story 3 version of this. While the first two movies had fairly simple scenarios, in 3, we see Andy's imagination at full work.

So, I'm posting again, rather than editing.

The first thing that comes to mind is just how fast and loose do you want to mess with canon. Take Mega Man for instance. His Final Smash involves summoning Mega Men from every other sub series in the franchise. Rather than try and integrate all that lore into an already big undertaking, you could mess with the timeline and relationship between them. How about as part of MM's backstory in this world, he's a descendant of them, and his ultimate attack channels the power of his ancestors.

Alternatively, maybe they all exist together as some kind of Blue Hunter Clan. Or, since he's a blank slate character, they could all be alternate personalities that exist within his mind.

The next thing that comes to mind is the relationship between each of the fighter pokemon. Aside from Mewtwo and Trainer, there's 6, which would be a full roster in the games. Maybe at one point they all served the same Master?
Aside from that is just how big you'd want to make it. There's more god level Legendary Pokemon than most polytheistic religions. Trying to work all them in would overshadow the rest of the cast.

What if the world of Pokemon was the dominant force at one point, but they were overpowered, and sealed away. All that remains are their stadiums, along with the balls used to lock away that world. Trainer, along with a few others, managed to escape that fate.
