Long Past Quote · 5:41am Dec 13th, 2020

I found this in my phone's notes:

"Introverts aren't anti social, just trapped. Trapped by their fears and anxieties, or trapped by their lack of a mental capacity to run on such highly social activities. We aren't refusing, we're in a prison. Our prison... Is our mind."

I must have written that on one of my emotionally low days, and my "third eye" opened. I still see truth behind it though, most introverts are trapped by their own psyche.

It's a very accurate quote.

I should know given I used to be one.

Honestly, I'd say it depends. Someintroverts are indeed trapped, however an introvert is also a type of personality. Humans are social creatures, yes, but not always to the same degree, and being an introvert doesn't nevessarily mean that we don't see clearly, are trapped, are more limited. We are just different, and it's really hard to explain to peoppe who aren't or are not that invested in psychology or sociology, which most aren't, simply because... well, they probably aren't interesting topics for most people and I'm just strange. :twilightsheepish:

But it really can be just a different personality. Needing a bit more space for themselves than most, and pushing the boundaries of desirable loneliness - in other words, privacy. It can indeed be someone trapped in their own mind, but it doesn't have to.

There are 4 types of introverts, and I wrote this when I was in my lower emotional state, so not all of this is true. I was just feeling really edgy and thought I had solved a secret of the universe, but unfortunately, I wrote this when it was 3 in the morning, after a long stressful day, so yeah. It was also written almost 3-4 months ago before I learned about the other types of introverts, and that's why I put a "cringy" tag on this blog post.

Oh, but don't worry, it is not... I'm just relaying my observations. That's what discussion is about after all, right? Exchanging views.
And although these in that auote might not be yours anymore... I still felt like I want to write a bit.
And, hey... it may be right concerning some people.

Sorry, I... I'd write a bit more, but... it's weird to say things, and I'm very fatigued, I'm really sorry... I really am...

I'm an introvert. I don't necessarily feel trapped but certain situations make me feel awkward or nervous and I just have to learn to get used to them. From my viewpoint, it's get used to them or become trapped by anxiety. It's quite a good quote though, if a little dark, but I like that.

This is really interesting. I don't study psychology, but I know a little about how certain things work and when I read stuff like this it actually gives me more of an idea of what's going on in my own head and what I can change to be a happier pony. Thanks for giving me a psychology lesson!
