New story! Trick-or-Fright! + new Black Cat chapter · 9:48am Nov 23rd, 2020
I have a new story. This time it isn't Galaxy Rangers related. It's a Lunaverse side story called Trick-or-Fright! It's a story about little DInky going Trick-or-Treating, but things take a scary turn when a genuine monster joins her! I know I'm releasing this a bit late, but I don't have the patience to wait an entire year to release it.
This story has an interesting history. It started as something completely different. It started out as a dark/sad fic about Dinky getting into a mess with Flutterponies. In it, Dinky saves a Flutterpony's life and is named an honorary Flutterpony. She brought to the Flutterpony lands for a party and stays there a night. When she returns, she discovered 60 years have passed. She finds most of the Luna 6 are dead, and her mother is in a nursing home with dementia. Ditzy recognizes her daughter but doesn't remember that she went missing many decades ago. Losing her daughter broke Ditzy and she was never quite the same. Ditzy's mind isn't there anymore and she barely remembers anything. Dinky has a heartbreaking scene where her mother passes away after they spend a tender moment. Of course, the Flutterponies feel terrible about inflicting this pain on the little filly, so they trap her in a dream where she lives her life out as normal as if nothing had happened. When the dream ends, Dinky will forget everything and become a Flutterpony for real. A cruel mercy.
Yeah, so none of that happens at all in Trick-or-Fright. In my original idea, Dinky saves the Flutterpony from a troll and that starts this whole mess, but when I wrote the scene, I fought I enjoyed the conflict of Dinky confronting the troll too much and changed the story to be just about that instead. The scene where Dinky meets the troll is so silly, that it made me completely change my mind about the story. I said, screw the sadfic idea, I want to write something fun instead! Funny how these things work. Another reason the story died was that I felt the Flutterpony party scene might be too much like the Flutterpony scene in The Forbidden Symphony. Yeah, I don't know. I think I covered the Flutterpony world enough the first time.
Anyway, I hope you enjoy the story! Also, I released Chapter 53 of Black Cat. Sorry about the lack of updates on the blog. I get too caught up on other things. The next story I'm writing is the finale of Season 1 of the Galaxy Rangers. I'm already about half finished with it. I took a break from it so I could write those Halloween stories, but now I'm back to writing it again. I'm not sure when I'll start releasing the chapters. I kind of want it done first before I release it. It won't be too long I think.
