So my Filly Anon Story has been trending for three days... · 4:50pm Nov 14th, 2020
It's a weird experience to have a popular story after six years on this website. After a sporadic influx of stories every few months, the one that gets me to the top of the page is the one about a self-insert character played absolutely straight. Compare this to my now second most popular story, The Right Reads. That took a few years to build up to its 800 views (though admittedly the first 300 came when I first published it two years ago). To suddenly have a story read more than that in such a short amount of time is a bit of whiplash for someone who's been the authorial equivalent of a lurker on this site.
Don't get me wrong, I'm happy it's getting attention and I finally have more followers than people I'm following. The fact that the story is the top of the trending tab for the last two days is incredible. That most people seem to be reacting positively is another plus. The notifications on my account have actually come so fast that I haven't responded to any of the comments yet. I want to wait for the story to cool down before I start reacting to the comments, just so I know how to gauge my words.
All in all, I'm happy with what's going on with the story. A little confused and unsure, but happy. Hopefully, I can keep this momentum with more new stories and blogs in the coming weeks. Thank you everybody for reading the story, and I hope to talk to you again soon!
