Okay, final part! Here we go! I had a harder time coming up with original episodes for this one compared to the last part. That said, I hope you enjoy my final season for Updating Friendship.

    Updating Friendship - Part 9

Here we are! Part nine! As I warned on my last post, this will not be the canon season nine but a mostly fan season with a few actual season nine episodes mixed in. This is going to be a lot longer post than previous ones because of all the new material, so buckle in!

    Updating Friendship - Part 8

From the few responses I've gotten, it sounds like people want to see a tenth season in my version so that's what will happen. Updating season 8 is up there with my biggest changes to the show, right next to extending season 3 to a full 26-episode season. This season had a lot of episodes that fell flat for much of the audience, so I did my best to modify all the ones that needed heavy edits.

    Updating Friendship - Part 6

Okay, I promise that this week will be the last time I post on Sunday instead of Saturday. My friends and I were wrapping up an RP we were doing on another site. This week we get into one of my favorite seasons of the show. Also as of this post, the seasons for Updating Friendship now have subtitles per suggestion by MLPFollower! So far we have the seasons as such:

Updating Friendship - Part 9 · 11:08pm Oct 10th, 2020

Here we are! Part nine! As I warned on my last post, this will not be the canon season nine but a mostly fan season with a few actual season nine episodes mixed in. This is going to be a lot longer post than previous ones because of all the new material, so buckle in!

Onto Season 9: The Power of Family!

Ep. 1 “Prince Shining Armor, Part 1” – A new episode focusing on Shining Armor’s role in the series. One evening after Flurry Heart’s birthday party, Shining Armor begins to hear something calling him. When he discovers that the Crystal Heart is the caller, he learns that he needs to go on a quest involving Celestia, Luna, Cadence, and Twilight. Meanwhile, an Earth pony villain grows angry with Earth ponies not receiving the same respect that unicorns and pegasi do, and manages to replicate Discord’s plundervines so they can control them to attack locations around Equestria founded by unicorns or pegasi.

Ep. 2 “Prince Shining Armor, Part 2” – A new episode focusing on Shining Armor’s role in the series. Shining Armor and the princesses learn on their quest that there is to be another alicorn in their ranks. Word reaches them about the Earth pony villain attacking Equestria, and Princess Celestia and Princess Luna return to Equestria to defend it. Shining Armor, Cadence, and Twilight continue the quest, eventually realizing that Shining Armor is supposed to be the next alicorn. Shining Armor receives his alicorn wings and uses his newfound power to redeem the villain by affirming that Earth ponies, pegasi, and unicorns are all family. This revelation allows Shining Armor to be known as the Alicorn of Family, like how Cadence is the Alicorn of Love and Twilight is the Alicorn of Friendship. Shining Armor’s rise also causes four new communities to form, expanding the Crystal Empire. Like the capital of the Crystal Empire itself having the Crystal Heart, each of the new communities has a crystal relic based on the alicorns’ basic concepts such as a Crystal Sun for Celestia, a Crystal Moon for Luna, a Crystal Star for Twilight, and lastly, a Crystal Shield for Shining. The royals notice space for a fifth new community and deduce it is meant for Flurry when she earns her cutie mark.

Ep. 3 “An Evil Filly’s Descent” – A new episode focusing on Cozy Glow’s origin story. The time for Cozy Glow’s trial has come. In order to pass the right punishment, the royals must learn Cozy Glow’s origin story. Everybody has their own interpretation of Cozy’s origin story, but one of my personal versions would be the story of Matilda by Roald Dahl gone bad, in which Cozy treats friendship as a game to be manipulated, not understanding that it is not. Slip in a flashback to the season four scene where she meets Tirek here. When her punishment is given, she dismisses the offered chance at redemption as fake because she believes she’ll only be treated a certain way if she behaves any way other than herself. Though disappointed with her reaction, the royals move forward with her sentencing to the dungeons with private friendship tutoring.

Ep. 4 “New Year, New Students” – A new episode focusing on the Young Six, specifically Silverstream and Terramar’s siblinghood. The School of Friendship’s second year is beginning, and with a new year comes new students. Silverstream gets excited when her brother Terramar is among the new students to attend, but doesn’t realize Terramar wants his own space. Meanwhile, the Crusaders’ class starts their new school year in Ponyville’s new high school and feel wrong about it. Terramar confesses to Silverstream that he wants distance from her so he can make his own friends, and the Crusaders realize they never gave Cheerilee a proper goodbye as their teacher so they and their class throw her a party as a thank you for all she taught them. This episode begins the second year arc.

Ep. 5 “Sparkle’s Seven” – Same as canon. Overwhelmed by the new additions to the Crystal Empire territory, Shining Armor revives the Sparkle sibling rivalry upon suggestion from Cadence to relax. Twilight rallies her friends to help her with her ultimate victory against Shining, but their plan to do what he doesn’t expect goes in strange directions. Meanwhile, Spike sees his chance to finally compete in the rivalry, having been too young before Shining went off to guard school. In the end, Spike is declared winner for outwitting everybody by teaming up with Luna.

Ep. 6 “Common Ground” – Same as canon. Rainbow helps her old friend Quibble Pants bond with his girlfriend’s daughter.

Ep. 7 “She’s All Yak” – Same as canon. Yona attempts to be more like a pony when Sandbar invites her to the school’s first dance. This episode starts the Yonabar ship.

Ep. 8 “Sweet and Smoky” – Same as canon but with some edits. Fluttershy and Spike escort Smolder back to the Dragon Lands when she expresses concern for her brother’s wellbeing. Fluttershy learns from Ember, who is overseeing her first egg hatching since becoming Dragon Lord, that the eggs are having trouble. Meanwhile, Spike learns that Smolder’s brother is Garble and reveals to Smolder that Garble has been bullying him every time they’ve crossed paths. Smolder calls out Garble for his behavior and threatens to cut contact with him unless he swears to stop bullying. In the end, Garble reveals his secret hobby and helps the other dragons hatch the eggs. While Spike and Smolder see this as a step in the right direction, Spike is not ready to forgive him and Smolder leaves him with a warning to keep his promise. This episode concludes Spike’s rivalry with Garble.

Ep. 9 “Going to Seed” – Same as canon but with some edits. Applejack calls in a substitute teacher while she helps the family with the apple harvest. Instead of Goldie Delicious, we get Braeburn or Babs helping with the harvest since Goldie wasn’t very helpful in canon. This episode strengthens Applejack and Apple Bloom’s sisterhood by having them enjoy a past hobby of theirs together. If Babs helps with the seedling hunt, it’s a new memory for her to share with Apple Bloom.

Ep. 10 “Student Counsel” – Same as canon. The addition of the new arrivals during the school’s second year fills up Starlight’s schedule while Trixie is planning a gathering of their friend group. Party plans with Sunburst, Maud, and Mud Briar are halted when Terramar needs help finding Silverstream for their visit home. After finding Silverstream at the Castle of the Two Sisters, Starlight resolves to set hours for her counselor’s office. This episode continues the second year arc.

Ep. 11 “The Last Crusade” – Same as canon but with some edits. Instead of being in a rotation of babysitters, Scootaloo’s aunts have been living in Ponyville with her since season one. Scootaloo’s parents come home to visit. Rather than having the conflict be the possibility of Scootaloo moving away, the conflict is around Scootaloo wanting to have a relationship with her parents. This episode finally answers lingering questions about Scootaloo’s home life even though her aunts have been shown in previous seasons.

Ep. 12 “Between Dark and Dawn” – Same as canon but with some edits since the retirement hasn’t happened. On the advice of a therapist Celestia and Luna have been seeing since A Royal Problem, the sisters get away for a vacation to reconnect. Their relationship becomes strained when neither like each other’s idea of fun. They eventually reconcile and promise to make more effort in supporting each other’s interests. Meanwhile, the Mane Six assist Prince Blueblood in running Canterlot while the sisters are away but Rarity’s rocky Grand Galloping Gala with him back in season one causes strife. The Mane Six, especially Rarity, learn that Blueblood is actually a smart ruler and his persona that night was fake to keep away society climbers.

Ep. 13 “The Last Laugh” – Same as canon. Feeling like she hasn’t made much progress in her life compared to everyone else, Pinkie visits Cheese Sandwich’s new gag factory for advice. Upon finding he has lost his laugh, she helps him rediscover it. Cheese realizes he needs to see his audience’s reactions to his gags and resumes life on the road while handing over factory operations to his assistant, Sans Smirk. The visit makes Pinkie realize she doesn’t have to compare her progress to her friends’ and returns home satisfied.

“2, 4, 6, Greaaat” – Delete this one because everyone hates it.

Ep. 14 “Young Friendship” - A new episode focusing on the Young Six since 2, 4, 6, Greaaat was deleted. The rogue changelings that allied with Chrysalis are sent to attack the school as revenge against Starlight. It’s up to the Young Six to use their knowledge of their friendships with each other and Ocellus’s insight on changeling tactics to protect the school while the Mane Six are on a Map Mission.

Ep. 15 “The Other Flash” – A new episode focusing on Twilight and her issue with royal guards. Following the rogue changeling attack on the School of Friendship, Twilight is advised to finally get some guards around Ponyville at the suggestion of Shining Armor. She has never been a fan of the idea of having guards due to wanting to be viewed as ordinary, but is convinced to go along with it for the students’ safety. One of the new guards is none other than Flash Sentry, the pony counterpart to the boy from Sunset’s human realm that she has a crush on. Unable to make sense of her feelings, she seeks Cadence’s help, who reminds her that love is another form of friendship and that she should explore it. This is the first episode of the show to directly reference the Equestria Girls spinoff.

Ep. 16 “She Talks to Angel” – Same as canon to expand on Fluttershy and Angel’s bond. This episode is a turning point for Angel, who has always been a jerk, to be more social.

Ep. 17 “Dragon Dropped” – Same as canon, but with some edits to make the implication that Spike is over his childhood crush more apparent. Rarity notices Spike pulling away to spend more time with younger creatures like Gabby and Terramar, and tries to earn his affection back. Spike confesses that he is growing up and while he may not have a crush on Rarity anymore, she’s still one of his best friends. Rarity accepts this, now seeing the time she does get with him as more precious. This episode concludes the arc of Spike’s crush on Rarity.

Ep. 18 “A Horse Shoe-In” – Same basic concept, but with major edits since Twilight hasn’t taken over for the sisters as ruler. Twilight finally caves after all the new paperwork involving the new students and new guards becomes too much. Starlight suggests she hire a vice principal. To Starlight’s surprise, Sunburst is one of the applicants and worries to Trixie that working in the same building could damage their friendship. As Sunburst advances through the application process, Starlight grows more concerned and eventually explodes on him. Sunburst talks with her and admits he applied so he could be closer to her. He reassures her that their friendship is stronger than a work relationship could ever be, and accepts the job when Twilight offers it to him. Shining Armor and Cadence keep him on speed dial for Flurry’s magical education. This episode continues the second year arc.

Ep. 19 “Daring Doubt” – Same basic concept, but with major edits since the twist with Ahuizotl contradicted previously established lore. Fluttershy informs Rainbow Dash that somebody wrote a Daring Do novel from Dr. Caballeron’s POV and Rainbow sees it as slander to Daring’s reputation. Rainbow and Fluttershy go to Daring for answers, and Fluttershy discovers Dr. Caballeron is doing the same thing that Daring is with her writing. Based on her previous experience with Discord, Fluttershy goes along with Caballeron and his crew on his next quest to attempt redeeming him. Rainbow and Daring pursue them to retrieve a talisman that forces the holder to only speak truthfully. Everyone is forced to work together when Ahuizotl attacks them. Fluttershy convinces Daring and Caballeron to be nicer to each other, and Daring permits Caballeron to write his side of their stories to make money as long as he doesn’t slander her character. This episode concludes the Daring Do Adventures arc.

Ep. 20 “Parent Mission” – A new episode focusing on Shining and Cadence. Continuing the Cutie Map’s growth in power, it calls on Shining Armor and Cadence for a Map Mission. Leaving Flurry Heart in Twilight’s care, they go on their mission and find a pair of parents having trouble with their family of five or six children. While they puzzle out why the map called them, they help the parents get their family under control by using Shining’s military discipline and Cadence’s old babysitting techniques. After they help the family get organized, Shining and Cadence realize family relationships are forms of friendship and that’s why the map called them, along with their abilities to help the family. As the episode ends, they begin to consider having more children. This episode continues the Map Mission saga.

Ep. 21 “Students of Elements” – A new episode focusing on the Young Six and their succession to the Mane Six. The Mane Six are finally able to put time aside to investigate the Young Six’s potential as Elements of Harmony bearers. Each pair learn something from each other’s upbringing and how they connect to their respective elements except one yet to be determined pair. This episode continues the Young Six as Elements of Harmony arc.

Ep. 22 “To Rule a Hive” – A new episode focusing on Thorax and Pharynx. Pharynx has been dodging royal meetings since his transformation, preferring to focus on the military aspects of ruling a kingdom. Thorax forces him out of his comfort zone by having him attend the Crystal Empire’s grand opening of the four new communities from the season premiere. Thorax and Pharynx learn how difficult each other’s roles are, with Thorax learning how hard it is to rule without a second in command and needing to pay attention to military things while Pharynx learns to socialize and finds something in common with Luna. I would personally use this episode to confirm my fanon that changelings still make cocoons and the cocoons are color coordinated to their creators.

Ep. 23 “Brothers of Harmony” – A new episode focusing on the Guys Night Group. Zephyr Breeze floats into town to visit Fluttershy, only to find out she has prior plans with her friends. With nothing else to do that weekend, he reluctantly follows her suggestion to join Spike, Discord, and Big Macintosh for Guys Night, thinking it’ll be a party. He annoys the other guys with his standoffish attitude, but they continue to include him in their games. Zephyr eventually gets fed up and asks why they keep roping him back in, and Discord reveals that Fluttershy asked them to help him make friends. Initially betrayed by Fluttershy’s scheming, he comes around when he realizes that he, Spike, and Big Mac are all brothers to famous mares and starts to connect with them over that. Zephyr leaves at the end of the weekend, already intending to meet up with them next time and planning to make friends closer to his home.

Ep. 24 “The Big Mac Question” – Same as canon to finish the Sugar Belle arc.

Ep. 25 “The Mean 6: Revenge of the Clones, Part 1” – A new episode focusing on the Mean Six. When they are mysteriously resurrected under unknown circumstances, the clones decide to get revenge on the Mane Six by stealing the crystal relics from the Crystal Empire communities to test what would happen when they are removed. Meanwhile, the Mane Six are able to get their families all together in one location for the first time ever. Shining joins the Brothers of Harmony; Scootaloo tags along as Rainbow Dash’s honorary sister; and Granny Smith and the Pie parents are able to bond with the other parents over raising the Elements of Harmony. After the Mean Six’s theft causes the eternal snowstorm to return, the Mane Six along with Cadence, Shining, Luna, and Celestia all are forced to use their powers of friendship, love, and siblinghood to protect the expanded empire. Stuck doing this, the Mane Six are forced to rely on their families to get the relics back for them.

Ep. 26 “The Mean 6: Revenge of the Clones, Part 2” – A new episode focusing on the Mane Six’s families. With the Mane Six and the other royals stuck protecting the expanded empire from the eternal snowstorm, their families are needed to save the day. Discord uses his abilities to transport the families to where they need to go. Granny and the parents get a taste of what their children go through all the time; the Crusaders finally are able to successfully contribute to a finale; and Big Macintosh convinces Zephyr to step up. Meanwhile, the Twilight clone remains in the Crystal Empire to sabotage the Mane Six’s efforts. After the relics are recovered, they learn that it is not enough to stop the snowstorm. Shining Armor realizes that all six families need to tap into the Elements of Harmony and the crystal relics to make up for the missing sixth community and not yet existing relic. Once the snowstorm is defeated, the Mane Six confront the Mean Six and once again eliminate all of them except Mean Twilight, who escapes. The families go back to mingling, now having a better understanding of their connections. The Mane Six wonder about their evil clones and where Mean Twilight went. Elsewhere, Mean Twilight finds out how they were revived.

Movie 7 “Equestria Girls- Graduation Collision” – A new Equestria Girls movie centered on giving the spinoff a proper goodbye. There’s a week left in the human counterparts’ senior year, and the girls are all preparing for the future. Sci-Twi plans to live at home while attending college due to Shining Armor and Cadence’s upcoming baby; Rainbow, Pinkie, Fluttershy, and Rarity convince Applejack that her family farm will be fine without her as she considers attending college to pursue music; and Sunset debates what to do next with her life once school is finished, whether it’s going to college or returning to Equestria. Their impending graduation is endangered by rapid appearances of Equestrian magic on Earth. If the human Sunset plot point isn’t touched on in Legend of Everfree, it would be focused on here to magnify the magic issue and further pony Sunset’s conflict of returning to Equestria. The leaking magic interrupts graduation day, and some of it is implied to be the magic snowstorm from the season finale in Equestria. The girls attempt to close the leaks, but Sunset’s interactions with her human counterpart make her realize their worlds are connected and that they shouldn’t be trying to suppress it. This revelation allows them to make the leaks stop by letting more magic into the world. After the graduation ceremony, human Cadence goes into labor and the snow from the ceremony gives her and Shining Armor the idea to name their new daughter Flurry Heart. As Sci-Twi and her friends admire the new baby, Sunset meets with her human counterpart and decides to stay so she can track magic around the human world; her human counterpart expresses interest in the pony world, citing a need to learn about being more social. The two inform Sunset’s friends of their decisions and look forward to the future. In a post-credits scene, the human Sunset emerges in the pony world as a unicorn and greets the Mane Six and the princesses, informing them she isn’t their Sunset but hopes they can become friends.

A lot of the new episodes are ones I wished we got in canon, like Shining Armor becoming an alicorn. Kinda seemed unfair that only the princesses got to be alicorns, so giving him wings makes him look equal with his wife. The addition of new neighborhoods and new relics in the Crystal Empire make the place seem less like a glorified town with the royal family as glorified mayors. Cozy Glow's origin story was a must since canon never answered our questions about a filly turning evil. I made the Mean Six clones the season finale antagonists because I like StarlightisVERYcute's idea of the Legion of Doom being the Elements of Disharmony, and since the season premiere involved Shining becoming the Alicorn of Family and an expansion of the Crystal Empire, it made sense to come back around to those ideas. I also made sure to give the Equestria Girls a proper finale that they were neglected, recycling Sunset's scrapped plot from Friendship Games about her desire to return to Equestria.

Episodes from canon season nine were adjusted so they either fit the plot without the retirement happening or just ended better than canon. I hope what I came up with for them satisfies people. Now all that's left is the final season. All I'll say for now is the final battle will be four parts instead of two because that's what I felt it deserved as the series' final outing. Tune in next week for my outline of the final season, Season 10: Beginning of the End!

Please let me know down below what you think of my half-fan and half-canon season. I really want to know what people think of alicorn Shining Armor and the concept of expanding the Crystal Empire.

There is literally no way you could've read the whole post already. I JUST posted it.

Amazing how just about everything here is better developed and more interesting than what we got in cannon. Good work.

These are AWESOME ideas!! I always felt troubled that Shining Armor never became an alicorn. I mean, he married the Alicorn of Love, he's got crazy powerful magic even if it isn't as prolific and widely versed as Twilight's is, and even his daughter is an alicorn. I would've loved to have seen at least ONE male alicorn in the series...:raritywink:

And Shining and Cadance being called for a Map Mission? NICE!:pinkiehappy:

And I LOVE the adjustments you made to the Season 9 episodes you put here! Taking out that stupid retirement plotline and the cringeworthy plot devices was GENIUS! And I actually don't mind you deleting "2, 4, 6, Greaaat." The only moment I actually liked in that utterly cringeworthy episode was when Celestia shouted like a classic football fan. XD! :rainbowlaugh:The looks on everyone's faces was PRICELESS!!

Not to mention an actual backstory for crazy Cozy Glow, bringing back pony Flash Sentry so he can actually have a chance with Twilight:twilightsmile:, getting the families of the Element Bearers together, and an actual ending for Equestria Girls? AWESOME!! :rainbowkiss:

Honestly, it's a downright shame you're not planning on actually writing out any of your changes in the show into actual stories. I'd read them over and over again!!:raritystarry:

Ep. 19 “Daring Doubt” – Same basic concept, but with major edits since the twist with Ahuizotl contradicted previously established lore.

Heh... I betcha A Man Undercover would be pleased with that. ;3

Episodes from canon season nine were adjusted so they either fit the plot without the retirement happening or just ended better than canon. I hope what I came up with for them satisfies people. Hopes their retirement doesn't happen in that final season as well. X3

Though while on the subject of 2, 4, 6, Greaaaat..... am I the only one who clearly thinks Princess Celestia's Buckball team clearly cheated their way to win against Ponyville's Team? ^^; :twilightsheepish:

5375584
I wouldn't know. I only saw that bad episode once (which is more than enough) and I don't remember EVERYTHING from it. And coupled with the fact that I don't even know (or like) football let alone buckball means I wouldn't know the rules...

There's bound to be naming the Mean Six when they go up against their counterparts. Here's a list of names for the Mean Six:
Opposite Twilight Sparkle > Meanlight Matte or Meanlight Dwindle or Midnight Terror
Opposite Pinkie Pie > Gray Sour or Gray Nothing
Opposite Fluttershy > Fliercruel
Opposite Applejack > Rottentack or Rotten Applejuice
Opposite Rainbow Dash > Monochrome Dawdle
Opposite Rarity > Normality

However, someone had this list of opposite Mane Six names from a few years back and I think they're worth looking at. Here's a link: https://mlpforums.com/topic/33503-mane-six-opposites/?do=findComment&comment=785179

BTW, I am thinking about using the possibility of stallions becoming alicorns - albeit in the negative light - in my Friendship is Magic continuation spin-off fanfic.

This is awesome! :pinkiehappy:
So Season X (Roman for 10) will have Grogar?! YES!! :rainbowdetermined2:

Love you show Cozy’s backstory and a guy’s night where it involves more members. Also bringing Blueblood back and reveal he’s not an arrogant snob but his personality is nothing but façade he made to prevent gold digging mares from leeching off of him. Makes sense since in season 1, Rarity did started to leech on Blueblood in hoping to get more social status. And the evil clones of the Mane 6 returning after their deaths is genius

5375588
Agree 2, 4, 6, Greaaaat is bad episode and is in my top 10 bad episode list. If the episode base around Silverstream and a cheerleading squad. I don’t mind watching it.

Season 10 ideas:
The characters from the movie reappear with their voice actors reprising their roles.

Sombra lives after he is defeated.

Some minor villains want to join in Grogar's Legion of Disharmony, but they're told all of the spots are taken.

When Sombra is revived, he immediately seeks revenge on Spike and Cadence for his previous defeat.

The Legion of Disharmony gains a seventh member in Twilight's dark counterpart. Combined, they represent the Seven Deadly Sins.

Sunset visits Equestria.

When he reclaims his bell, Grogar uses it to force the Windigos to obey him.

After the Magic of Friendship destroys his Bewitching Bell, Grogar accepts his defeat.

I wonder how well did Luna and Celestia against that earth-pony villain? Hopefully its doesn't end up being they get taken out.. again..
Speaking of quest, I wonder if there would be one for the sisters getting to restore their connection to the Elements? Sadly the show pretty much made it looks like the sisters are screwed BIG TIME they can't use the Elements/no longer connected to them(heck.. not being included in the final rainbow laser shows they are ultimately tossed aside) and unable to truly protect Equestria anymore. Hurts more for Luna's case big time.
Like.. its ultimately used an excuse to shaft the sisters instead of just a big issue that should be touched on. Like why didn't Harmony give the sisters a chance to fix this? Instead of basically tossing them aside.

I wonder if the next season will touch on Nightmare Moon and Daybreaker? Like Luna and Celestia's inner powers there and exploring that, like Luna's darkness there.
Would it also touch on the idea of Spike being the 7th Element with how he got included in the final rainbow laser in the series finale?
I know he was included in your season 9 finale but it felt more like Spike wasn't truly included as a bearer, just a "placeholder" for the 6th community since Flurry Heart hasn't gotten her cutie mark then Spike truly being included as a bearer and connected to Harmony there.
Its pretty interesting on how Luna and Celestia got a Crystal Relic there actually.

5380433
Don't worry. Luna would handle him until Shining got there to make his revelation as the Alicorn of Family.

As for the sisters reconnecting with the Elements of Harmony, I think the revised Between Dark and Dawn episode would be the point where they regain the connection. Since Luna's return, they've struggled with readapting to having each other around since Celestia ruled for a thousand years alone and Luna has a lot of modern day to catch up on. A Royal Problem would be the wake-up call that they need to do some restoration of their sisterhood, and Between Dark and Dawn's revised version would be that restoration.

I didn't plan for any Nightmare Moon and Daybreaker stuff. In my interpretation, Luna put the past behind her, which includes Nightmare Moon, and Daybreaker would be too over-powered to include unless someone could figure out a way to nerf her.

I'm personally a little mixed on the Spike as a seventh element concept, mostly because of Sunset in Equestria Girls acting as a seventh element too. I feel like Spike and Sunset would contradict each other as a potential seventh element. I wouldn't consider either of them being a possible eighth element because a seventh isn't too far of a stretch, but there actually being eight elements is a little bit too much to believe.

Glad you like the idea of the Crystal Relics. Cadence's cutie mark matches the Crystal Heart, so I figured that if I wanted to make the Crystal Empire expand, why not give each new community their own Crystal Relic that matched the alicorns.

5375570

I always felt troubled that Shining Armor never became an alicorn. I mean, he married the Alicorn of Love, he's got crazy powerful magic even if it isn't as prolific and widely versed as Twilight's is, and even his daughter is an alicorn. I would've loved to have seen at least ONE male alicorn in the series...:raritywink:

Same. Would it have been so wrong to have some powerful male characters who were good?

And Shining and Cadance being called for a Map Mission? NICE!:pinkiehappy:

Yeah, that was on my list of most wanted episodes from the series so into this project it goes.

Some villains need a backstory and some don't, Cozy is one of the villains that needs one. Yes, Flashlight shipping represent! One of the missed opportunities was having all the Mane Six's families in one room so I decided to fix that. Yeah, I was unsatisfied with Legend of Everfree being the EG finale, freaking TimberTwi shipping... so fixed!

Honestly, it's a downright shame you're not planning on actually writing out any of your changes in the show into actual stories. I'd read them over and over again!!:raritystarry:

Honestly, if I didn't have such a problem starting long-term fanfic projects and actually finishing them, I would. If I was more confidence in my ability to commit to them, I would.

5375580
A Man Undercover most likely would.

5376147
I got the sense that the writers picked up on our disdain for Blueblood and decided to just retcon him gone. Bringing him back made sense for a substitute ruler while the sisters went on their vacation.

5375778

5377512
I'm not sure about the others, but I like Midnight, Fluttercruel, Liarjack or Appleliar or Applefibber.

I can tell you at least two of your suggestions for season 10 are right.

5380636
Wait, Legend of Evergreen wasn't the finale for the Equestria Girls line. There were several shorts that premiered after that movie. Haven't you seen them? I know they're on Netflix...

5380652
Nope. I know of the one with Wallflower Blush, but others I heard of like the one with Juniper Montage sounds kind of ridiculous, personally.

I haven't seen all of the shorts, but Dance Magic and the ones with Juniper Montage actually aren't that bad. And while Forgotten Friendship isn't my favorite, it had the reunion between Sunset Shimmer and Celestia, and it was so sweet to see!

Not quite perfect...there are a couple 'canon' episodes I would remove or severely edit that you didn't. But overall a MASSIVE improvement. I have a few suggestions. She Talks to Angel needs some edits to remove some of the heavy OOC moments. The episode can still work. I'm also not a fan of the students being "successors". The mane 6 should stay the wielders of the elements. And I'd really like to tone down the "romance" moments for the students (and Spike). All of the fan episodes are MUCH MUCH better. But yeah, I would definitely read this if it were fully written. It's not hard to replace the 'canon' season for me, since I deleted that long ago (as-is, I consider Rainbow Roadtrip the finale). It's hard to make a whole bunch of suggestions in one post.

I'll definitely keep an eye on this.

Have you heard of the Save My Little Pony campaign?

So Spike won't be a Bearer?
That doesn't seem fair for him since him being a Bearer was one of the things the show's finale did right
