Baldur's Gate 3 is a joke · 9:52am Oct 9th, 2020
No negative race traits. Like in Baldur's Gate 1 and 2, and even Icewind Dale a dwarf for example would have minus 1 dexterity, but plus 1 constitution and get a saving throw bonus. However, they may find Gauntlets of Dexterity to fix such an issue. Or even a tome to increase their ability scores. But not in Baldur's Gate 3. I find this sort of thing cheapens the world. Races have strengths and weaknesses. Dwarf great defense, elf better dexterity but less constitution, half-orcs good strength and constitution, but less intelligence and less charisma. (lots of people do not like half-orcs) Humans are a jack of all trades but do not excel in anything.
If that wasn't enough they turned real-time combat from Baldur's Gate 1 and 2 into turn-based combat. How does a 20-year-old (and older) game still have a better combat system?
This isn't Baldur's Gate, this is some sort of mobile game pretending to be Baldur's Gate.
It is still in early access... be patient.

Yeah... I'll wait and see.
But I have a feeling I am right.
I think that's less an issue with Baldur's Gate, and more an issue with 5e D&D.
Honestly, the thing that bothered me the most about character gen is that Githyanki is a playable race. But again, that may be an issue with 5e D&D.
I don't really think it's fair to say that turn-based combat is inferior to real-time combat. They're each just different ways of going about it. It boils down to taste in the end, but I don't think one is inherently better than the other.
Seems like nowadays developers hate any challenge and handicaps. Can't afford to shatter a glass-like self esteem of a modern teenagers with a scary phrases like "negative trait", you know./s
I'll wait until the full game to start playing
