Explaining the Series Situation · 5:55am Sep 25th, 2020
Alright, so I might have caught y'all a bit off guard with the changes that happened to the stories Fusion Genres and Magical Mission: Portal to a New Home. I totally understand if it's confusing, so I will explain:
Yes, Fusion Genres is a sequel to Magical Mission. The latter story will end at the point where the former begins, and both stories are part of a will-be larger series.
The reason I wrote Fusion Genres first, well, there are two reasons. One, I like to alternate between writing long stories and writing short stories. You can see this by scrolling through my story list: after an 8-chapter story came a one-shot. Then a 14-chapter story followed by a 2-chapter story. Magical Mission will definitely be a long story, so it takes the spot after the next short one. That's just how I like to do things.
Then for two, I was really feeling Fusion Genres. I was more excited to write it. I'm pretty sure I did know at the time that it would be part of a series and a sequel to Magical Mission, but I knew in my heart that Fusion Genres should be written first. It's the state I was in.
Now, the reason I didn't tell you about this earlier was that I thought it would be a spoiler if I mentioned that this was turning into a series. I thought it would ruin the excitement by giving away how Magical Mission would end. I changed my mind after thinking that making the series' presence known would build up excitement better. After all, it's a series!
Plus, the bulk of Magical Mission is still hidden. It's not like saying a story is a prequel is going to spoil the entire thing. If a reader sees the sequel notice on Fusion Genres wants to know what happened before that story, they still need to read Magical Mission.
So yeah. Sorry about the confusion, I totally understand. I wish I had mentioned this sooner.
Now, I must say, you don't need to read Magical Mission in order to enjoy or understand Fusion Genres. I'm including it within the series' boundaries due to what I have in mind for the series, but Fusion Genres should work fine as a stand-alone story. Please don't think that if you've read it already that you've read it wrong or anything. You haven't. But again, I apologize if I've deceived anyone.
Hope you're excited for the series though! I sure am!
