And now no power at home! · 4:34pm Aug 5th, 2020
The little tropical storm managed to do quite a lot of damage in NJ, mainly from little swirls/mini tornadoes in an arm of thunderstorms which swept over the whole state. No power at home since 11am yesterday, still 600K people without power in the state.
And that means my laptop that I'd left plugged in to let it try and sort itself out has now totally drained its battery. That ought to be fun. I think the world is telling me to give up, smash it with a sledge hammer to work out my frustrations, and buy a new one.
And then... there are other annoying things to use the sledgehammer on... like my governor!
Wait, the world is turning against you... there are storms all around you... Alondro, are you being punished by the eastern dragons for losing your heavenly mandate?
Are YOU XI JINPING???
Is this why you so often "joke" about your inevitable ascension to power as world supreme leader?????
Ah, sorry about that; I hope your luck improves soon.
I'm in Wildwood and the storm passed us by so quick that I didn't think it ended up being a big deal. Like, yeah there was heavy winds and some rain and some power out here and there, but it wasn't that bad.
Then I start hearing things from friends and family back in the middle and north of the state as well as some reports from NY and it's like a mini Sandy rolled in.
5329850 New Jersey is being attacked for being New Jersey.
I'm just in the middle of it. As in, physically in the center of the state. So all the rage of the cosmos at the horror that is New Jersey is focused upon me.
Also, we have Phil Murphy. That multiplies the rage at least 4-fold.
I shall use this crisis to propagandize that Murphy is leading our state to its doom, and replace him as the NEW dictator of New Jersey!
5330304 Near my town, one of the tornadoes hit and knocked out a power distribution center. The winds from those little swirling storm cells hit officially 109 mph.
The tree damage itself was modest where I am. Mostly sticks and small branches. There's virtually no other damage. But we don't have any backup connections for electricity.
I saw this morning that Pemberton was mostly back up. So I expect power will return to my area in a day. We got dry ice to keep the chest freezer cold in the meantime.
But the REAL test will be from mega-hurricane Killeveryone in October! It'll have winds of 8,000 mph and actually be composed of fire.

No no, thats in december Alondro. October is the one with sharks wielding scootaloo haircuts and chainsaws
5331156 Ah, Sharkicane. The next stage up from Sharknado.
