Now that I've established myself and managed to get a working flow for the most part, I was curious: is anyone hankering for commissions?
This is not an open inquiry for actual commissions. Yet. I may not even open them for months even if I get a good response. So please don't send me ideas for them, whether in comments or PMs.
But is this something you all would be interested in? My current planned stipulations are the following, so that things work out for both parties as much as possible:
- Pricing undetermined as of yet. I was thinking $12 per 1k words, possibly down to $9 since I'm still somewhat of a novice, and because of the next bullet point. Limit of 10k to start; I don't want to murder myself here.
- No guaranteed deadlines. Work is currently encroaching more on me, and college will be too come fall. This means I can't reliably guarantee any due date. That said, I'll still do my best to complete work as quickly and well-done as possible.
- Very limited slots. I'm talking two max. I already have tons of drafts of my own and don't want those to fall away too.
- The idea has to appeal to me on at least a "yeah, I can see it" basis. This is actually pretty easy especially in context of foalcon (or foal romance!), but I don't want to be taking up ideas I dislike. It'll be worse on both of us; me for having to write something I don't enjoy, and you, because the project likely won't turn out as well as something I'm driven to write. Ideas will be open to bouncing back and forth with slight modifications suggested where possible, though.
Thoughts? Indications of possible demand? Let me know!
