Could Ponies Reform LOTR Orcs? · 6:03pm Jun 8th, 2020
LOTR Orcs from the Lord of the Rings are basically a race of savages. They are mutated elves, twisted into evil abominations created by the Dark Lord Morgoth. They enjoy cannibalizing each other and the taste of man flesh. They hate beautiful things and love killing. And by extension, I'm pretty sure the Orcs would love to eat the ponies.
Do you think the ponies should try reform these guys or simply kill them?
I honestly don't think that LotR Orcs even COULD be redeemed, for the very reasons we all know, and you yourself stated here.
So, yeah, killing them all would be the only option, I would say.

Yeah, it's pretty hard to try redeem a race that seems to be written into their DNA to be evil by dark magic from Morgoth.

But the changelings were Evil too. They were parasites genetically programmed to Infiltrate other civilisations, and drain their lifeforce.
And as you stated, they were mutated by morgoths dark magic, so its not even natural for them to be like this, its literally a curse, even if they Arent Aware of it themselves.
If you lift the curse and basically Cure them, theres no reason they couldnt be turned back into regular elves.
The Elements of harmony are basically all powerful and could easily counterspell that magic (unless Treelight wants to use them in one of her mindgames or something)

The Changelings at least didn't murder the ponies of Canterlot. Orcs on the other hand, have been killing the Free Peoples of Middle-earth and eating them.
They would probably have to be turned back into Elves. If returned to Elves, they probably would be extremely traumatized and rush to the undying lands with great haste. I think they would have enough of Middle Earth.
There's simply no way the people of Middle-earth would ever forgive the Orcs for what they have done to them.
I mean, Equestria is so much higher in magic than Middle Earth that they could probably remove the dark curse that created the orcs, but I'm not sure that restoring the conscience of beings that have committed such atrocities would be terribly distinct from killing them directly.

The people of Gondor would never ever forgive the Orcs. Gondor stood as a beacon of light in defending Middle Earth from Sauron. Nor would Rohan... or pretty much everyone in Middle Earth on the side of the free peoples. Humans, Dwarves, Elves, everyone hates the Orcs.
I heard even Easterlings humans hate Orcs, and they were on Sauron's side.

yes, the changelings dont "kill" their Prey, they just put them in cocoons till they "expire", essentially keeping them in stasis, untill their Energy is depleted.
Characters do die in MLP, but to Keep it PG, they dont make it obvious. They cant say the K-word. Remember in the changeling timeline of the s5 finale, when Alternate Fluttershy believed Twilight to be a changeling, and said she had to be "destroyed"? and a couple of minutes later Chrysalis "zapps" Alternate Zecora in the face while in the Background, Fluttershys Silhouette "pokes" a changeling Silhouette with her "pointy stick" Right in the chest, while Twilight runs away with a horrified Expression on her face.

You think the orcs would need to be returned to elves? I can't see humans forgiving the orcs after what they did to them.

There are many examples (both fictional and real) where one Nation would "never ever forgive" another Nation for attrocities they commited. But eventually, they did.
In Fiction, there was the fire Nation from Avatar, but in the legend of korra, they are cool again, it seems.
IRL, there were numerous wars. If you randomly pick any two countries, chances are, that they were at war at some Point, but today, most countries are cool with each other (more or less)
Like, remmeber when the USA nuked Japan, or how hitler was the worst Thing to ever happen? Or literally every single time, someone discovered a new Country?
Sure it takes some time and work, to work past those incidents, but if both sides try hard enough, anything is possible.
The orcs dont necessarily have to stop being orcs. The only Problem that definitely Needs to be fixed, is the Thing, that Forces them to be Evil. Their outward appearence is only cosmetic. (although having a friendlier face would definitely help)

Like if you left the orcs alone long enough they would die out as a species because one they cannot breed on their own and they don’t know how to make the birthing pit or the magic needs cuz only elves can use it .with out a leader they will fight and kill eat each other until there is one and even if there is one they will challenge them over and over that is also the way the races dies out in the books.

But I guess those are just the orcs from lord of the rings there was also a few could Reproduce other races but they need to be able to use magic and since one out of every like 100 or can even use magic and usually the ones that can use magic are physically weak and are killed when they usually younger

It would depend on which Orcs you’re using If it’s lord of the rings they were made to be evil if using D and D then yeah anybody can be anything you got no problem there were like in they use physical force to win confrontations but doesn’t make them evil

The people of Gondor suffered horribly at the hands of the orcs. Orcs never once had a ceasefire on Gondor, and the Orcs killed and eaten their people.

I don’t even know if any of the orcs Were once elves since the race has so few numbers and one of them died their body would break down in a pure magic the books only mention how the other races dead bodies made them I went back through the notes of the story and other stuff it seems that the Elven magic needed to make the orcs is like a mixture of dark magic holy magic and Elven magic That was the closest exclamation the author gave during an interview
In my opinion if the elements of harmony where used on the orcs from lotr there would be two possibilities. Either the orcs would become brain dead or if the bearer knows what they are doing the elements will kill them and use there bodies to create a more benevolent race to replace them
