So, as you’ll know, BoSH is a story set in Sire’s Hollows; Starlight and Sunburst’s home. Now, in the show, when we’re first introduced to Sire’s Hollows, we see it going through a 1800’s Japan style change, with half of them agreeing to a more modern style, and the other half disagreeing and wanting to stay in the past.
Now, why they want change is never really explained except for how they want a bright future. But think about it. Why would you want a wall around a small town? Ponyville doesn’t have one, and no small urban town has one, at least not ones that I’ve seen.
So, BoSH could describe the push for modernization. After all, most of Sire’s Hollows is destroyed and burned down. So, that could explain why certain parts of Sire’s Hollows is being modernized by Solar Flare, while building that weren’t destroyed in the battle are being preserved by Firelight, because one side wants to modernize and rebuild the town, while the other side wants to preserve what they had left.

Yeah, on one hand, why would they send Sunburst off to Celestia's school automatically if there wasn't already someone in his family that attended it...but on the other Sunset as an only child just makes sense.

Yeah. That’s why I’m kind of on the fence about that theory. I wanna fall backwards into the soft grass, but I don’t know what could be there, but I also wanna fall forward onto the pavement; it’ll hurt, but I’ll know I what I’m going to hit.
