Proximity Has Been Updated · 5:15pm Apr 13th, 2020
Just a small update today, really. I wanted to share, in case you weren't already aware, that Proximity has been getting some update love. So if you enjoyed it the first time round, do please go check it out again and let me know what you think. The (I'm calling it) second season of flashfics has so far touched upon crappy kissing, floral metaphors and Ocellus being something of a metal-loving bugfiend. I'll probably stick to the original in terms of chapter numbers and lengths, meaning I'll throw out another seven before letting the dust fall on it once more. It's been fun going back to it, though, and I suspect this run will be a little lighter on the drama.
Aside from that, there's little else to update on. C19 is still doing its thing, and my body is still doing its thing. Had a follow up consultation thingy today, and I've got another one at the end of the week, unless things take a nosedive before then. For the most part it's been like a pretty nasty flu, but the bout of pneumonia I had a few years back has proper totalled my lungs, so I'm excessively resting and, uh, that's about it. My birthday tomorrow too, so... uh, yay? Ah well, it's not as though anywhere is open to go to anyway, and my wife and children are being super awesome, so it's gonna be a fun day regardless.
I'm thinking about what I can be doing during this extensive downtime. I've got other hobbies and fiction projects on the go, of course, but I've been wondering about throwing out some romantic flashfiction over the coming month. I wanted to focus on unusual pairings, which has always been my jam. Any suggestions? I can't promise I'll use them, but it might get the creative juices flowing just to see some names being suggested and debated.
Until next time, stay well, folks!
Wonderful to see more of Proximity! Thank you for writing this story. I need to catch up on it.
I wish you the best birthday possible under the circumstances.
Reading and writing are both excellent hobbies to fill the time with.
Happy birthday Hope you get well soon
I loved your Ember/Twilight fic, so more would not be unwelcome. And, well, I can't say that I haven't seen any Pinkie/Celestia on the site apart from Twice as Bright...

Thank you very much! I'm looking forward to having some more time to spend getting stuck into yours, too!!
And yes, not being able to do much physically means I can spend even more time strengthening myself mentally! It has been quite beneficial in that regard.

Thanks, chum!
Always had a fondness for that pairing. Fun fact: My only dabble with M-rated material was a Pinkie/Celestia fluff-fest. That was on my old account though, and the story has now disappeared completely.

RIP, lost to the void

Or maybe not, as it happens. Just find a stash of fics from my old account (ones that didn't survive in some archive site) in GDoc form. Woo.

You can actually ask the staff if you could re-upload stories from a dead-and-gone account. There was another user who did that recently, but they were an ass about it and uploaded stuff in huge waves to hog a lot of attention. As far as I can tell, the rule seems to be if you can verify both accounts are yours it's fair game to bring to a mod. A stash of unreleased goodies sounds excellent too!

Good to hear from you again!
Ah thanks, but I think I'll probably leave them as links to archives or GDocs. I think my writing style and preferences have changed enough for me to want that distance between then and now. Salves is a one-off because I did want to finish it.
As for those unreleased goodies, time will tell, eh?
Hope you're doing well, chum-o?

I'm doing pretty well! I've got some cabin/dorm fever but am otherwise doing alright.

That I can emphasise with! Well I hope you stay well and healthy and productive.
Oh, and seeing as you're here - toss me an unusual ship would ya kindly?

Lumbra! Always Lumbra! They're unusual and delightfully gothy. 🖤

Fanx! I mean, I had a wager with myself that you might have gone with that choice. Time to check out some stories then!!

They're the OTP that I'm always vying for more of, haha.
A belated Happy Birthday -- and get well soon, of course. From what I've heard from acquaintances who've had The Bug, "excessively resting" seems like a pretty good approach regardless of previous health.
