Since it’s next up on my list of books to get printed, I’m getting some art done for Playing House. The first one finished is by Coiris, a long time friend of mine who was a joy to work with. Definitely recommend commissioning them if you’re in the market for some art!

Isn’t it lovely? For those who haven’t read the beginning of this fic since it was published and may not remember this scene specifically, it was where Sunset gives Fluttershy the Sunfish Swimmer plush after their trip to the aquarium on Shy’s birthday. If anyone has specific scenes they’d like to see illustrated for the book, absolutely hit me up with them in the comments because I’m not decided on every scene I’m getting commissioned yet!
Incidentally, formatting Playing House for print sucks because of how damn big the book is... by making some concessions, I can barely get it to squeeze in to 800 pages without reducing the font size (line spacing is at 1.1 instad of 1.2 like other books, which was a difference of like a hundred freaking pages, and the side margins are ever so slightly smaller, which dropped it by about thrity pages). I only have enough space for a few illustrations this time around, so the full-color book will be extremely expensive (maxing out the page count) while providing fewer full-color pictures than I’d like (of course, it will have the cutie mark chapter headers in color, but still)
