Definite new story, apparently · 7:57pm Feb 24th, 2020
Given the surprisingly positive response to my last blog post, I will be moving forward with editing my new story and posting it up here once I think it's up to snuff. I hope everyone will enjoy it, although admittedly it's slightly more porn-y than my other stuff. I honestly couldn't tell you where the idea came from, it's just popped into my head one day and refused to go away until I put it on paper (metaphorically speaking).
Anyway, here's my usual offering of a description spoiler prior to posting so you'll know what you're all getting into.
All things have their place. Alphas, Betas, and Omegas each have their purpose. Sunset is an Alpha, and one of the most potent in Canterlot City University. When Sunset's rut hits her out of nowhere it leaves her agitated and desperate in the middle of campus, and a chance encounter with Fluttershy, one of the University's most potent Omegas, only makes it worse, provoking Rainbow Dash, another potent Alpha, to challenge Sunset.
When Sunset dominates Rainbow Dash it links them, and Rainbow finds herself in the unenviable position of being completely submissive to Sunset, who uses her to sate her rut. An Alpha is meant to be with an Omega, though, not another Alpha, but Sunset and Rainbow can't seem to stay away from one another, leaving both of them...
In a Rut
So what we get is Dom!Sunset, Sub!Rainbow, with the third chaos factor of Omega!Shy in the mix! Huzzah!

Not sure that I'll even give it a try (morbid curiosity might play a role, though), but hope it's good for the people who like it!
(My reaction to the Omegaverse primer you linked may have consisted largely of literally open-mouthed staring at This Thing That Is, but I don't see any reason why others can't enjoy it. :)
...Though, I admit, there was also an aspect of "Hm, this could perhaps be interesting if it was explored more seriously, especially if it dropped some of the more ridiculous there-for-porn aspects (or even more interesting if it actually managed to pull off dealing with those)". So... yeah, I can see myself deciding to see what you do with it at some point. :))

Totally fair, Omegaverse stuff just kinda appeared as a fandom subset? It's really weird, like, if you look into the history of it, the notion seemed to just congeal out of nowhere when a bunch of random people agreed it could be applied to literally anything, and then it was. There are definitely some really good non-smut Omegaverse stories that gives the whole wolfpack tropeset a fun run.
I'll tell you, I'm kind of exploring an odd angle here, with both love interests being Alpha's it turns it into kind of a 'forbidden love' angle, which I intend to explore, but honestly this plot bunny went some weird places in my head so even I'm not a hundred percent where it'll end up.
