This has been quite a week. (Week, week, week goes the guinea pig and yes, I'm tired, I've stayed up late writing about young ponies being cute.) In addition to getting a kinda reasonable level of edits done for various jobs, I've had lots of fun with music as I've been introduced to an accordion club. Although i'm easily the youngest there (and two folk are in their 80s) its fun to play music with pros and play all kinds of sheet music. In addition, playing music in church continues to be a real blessing. Although I've only been playing piano accordion again for two years its been as fun as it has been challenging. Between music, film work and writing, life is quite full on and I'm being okay with cutting right back on gaming to make up the time.
I've also had some good advancement with Crashing Angels. It's continuing to be rather gripping for me as an author to write and so is proving harder than I expected to put down. The few other things I have planned are waiting to be done when I have the spark to nail them down, as opposed to sitting down to write and finding myself drawn into the lives of two cute fillies and their families. I have a few other things I want to write too such as some more GrapeNut, but Housepets has been sadly lacking in new strips that feature those two and so I guess its reflected in my lack of drive to write something there.
This week I've also been getting back into brony/pony music for the first time again since 2013. There's been a lot of good tracks I've missed and its been fun listening to the likes of The Living Tombstone and Eurobeat Brony's tunes while I write Flutterdash fillies. Although it strikes me that almost all the music was made back in the early days of season 1-3. Very hard to find good artists who continued to make much music beyond season 4 or 5. Makes me a little sad in some ways, but oh well, what we do have is rather nice when I'm in the mood for something different to the usual Christian metal or cinematic instrumentals I listen to.
One nightmare / Luna tune, in particular, stands out as a good theme music I will have to listen to when I write a battle between her and somepony she cares deeply for. It also makes me realise that when I do get back into Fall of the Rising, I will need to take a day to re-immerse myself in that epic tale. That's going to be crazy, but for now, I think Crashing Angels will continue to be my main story. The third update for this month should be out mid week and then as long as the next set of chapters continue to flow like they are currently doing, I'm hoping I can keep up with two new chapters a month till its finished.
And I think these two are really cute together...
I get really annoyed when I see stories that break them up as they seem like such a faithful, sweet couple and Flurry Heart has a lot of potential for crazy awesome stuff.
I'm still trying to find ways to sneak them into stories (not been very good at succeeding there..) while I do like seeing them together, I just don't seem to have any big ideas on cool shipping stories that center on them. Maybe this year I can fix that?
And I still enjoy seeing stuff like this appear on the latest updates from derpibooru (probably the only other site I check daily..) Being sliiiightly asleep, I didn't hear it as "your game" the first time. ...Ah, the days of new episodes inspiring hard out Flutterdash stories...
Ah well,
Time for me to go to sleep I guess.
I have posted ponies and am satisfied.
