Chapter 2 showcases Daisy Dreams. Unlike Cherry Pie, we’ve seen her previously. She actually managed to appear in both previous stories, even if her blink-and-you’ll-miss-it cameo in Business Trip was uncredited. Pictured above with Rainbow Flash, we’ll see more of Rainbow later on in this fic. It’s always nice to see traditional art as opposed to digital art.

While Daisy never appeared on the show, she’s been fairly popular on the toy side of things. Multiple brushables (usually packaged with either a playset or as a bonus with another pony), a Fashion Style (larger brushable), a blind bag (another from wave 2 which we never got here, grr), and she was even one of the seven Playskool Pony Friends. I only have the normal, non-winged brushable, though I’d love to get my hands on her blind bag.

So if you thought some of the others had little to go on for backstories, Daisy Dreams probably takes the cake (at least as far as the ones that actually have backstories). Her normal release doesn’t have anything about her on the back of the packaging, but her Glimmer Wings version (think Rarity’s butterfly wings) does:

Daisy Dreams loves flowers just as much as her butterfly friend does! With her magical wings, they look a lot alike too!

Daisy’s an earth pony, not a unicorn nor a pegasus. Pictured with Ploomette, who at least can claim to normally be a pegasus. Daisy looks rather annoyed with her new magical appendages…

Daisy’s reasons for leaving Equestria are happier than Cherry Pie’s. She doesn’t want to be just another pretty face. She’s intelligent and wants others to appreciate her for her brains as opposed to her beauty. She figures the best way to get that recognition is to get as far away from all the hormonal stallions back home as she can, even if she misses her own special somepony something fierce. Can their long distance love work? We’ll find out in a much later chapter!

We won’t have quite as long to wait to find out more about Dewdrop Dazzle. Snowcatcher dropped her name – do these two have some sort of past together? The good news is Dewey’s chapter is next.

While I’ve promised to show how everypony gets brought on board, this is the chapter that sees the very genesis of the Mareiott. This short snippet of conversation with Daisy was the spark Snowcatcher needed. Which isn’t surprising – they’re probably the smartest ponies on the bus. Valedictorians both, they have that in common.

We ended this chapter with Snowcatcher’s first crossing of the George Washington Bridge. This is one of those pivotal moments in her life, and she associates it with the bridge. The bridging of two worlds, and the bridging of the present with the future. As a result, the GW will always serve as a symbol for the direction her life takes after this day. The Fort Lee tower of the hectic George Washington Bridge is one of her favorite places to come and think, contrasting nicely with the peaceful Terhune Memorial Park (Wayne, NJ) seen in Mr. Jones Goes To Equestria.

Okay, I don’t really have much else to say. This is just filler as an excuse to post more pictures of Daisy (seen here with Honeybuzz, another pony we’ll be seeing more of shortly).

I love that pic of Daisy with the butterfly wings. She looks so annoyed at the circumstances, like “Oh, Celestia, not this again.”

Surely you’ve seen this pic, but if not, it’s my civic duty to share it with you:

Thanks for the additional information. :)

That she does. Twilight must be practicing the wing spell on random ponies around town. Again.

And that pic is totally adorable! I gave up trying to style the manes of my ponies. I don't have the talent, but I can certainly appreciate the effort and skill that goes into it!
