First Commissioned Art of the Year! (A bit Saucier this time) From Mauroz! · 10:55pm Jan 23rd, 2020
I love this art piece, not only because of it looks, but also because there's a bit of a story to this one.
A while back, mauroz announced that he was having opening commissions. As some of you may know, mauroz is my FAVORITE Deviantartist. This guy has some serious talent, and his ongoing Friendship is Magic comic is still epic (heck, I'm using one of his art pieces as my avatar right now!). When I heard he was opening commissions, I'm jumped right on it. I'm the richest guy in the world, but this was an opportunity I wasn't going to let pass by.
Now, as you might have figured out by now, I'm a big SpikeBelle shipper. They are my favorite MLP ship, and one favorite ships in general (top three off the top of my head), and (much to my delight) mauroz also appears to ship SpikeBelle as well. I absolutely LOVE his SpikeBelle arts and their moments in his comics, so I knew I was in for a treat.
Okay, I'm going to be honest, here: I had indeed read his rules for the commissions (Spanish is my second language). I knew he said there could only be one character per commission. However, being the big shipper that I am (and also hoping his shipper side well let it happen), I asked for an art piece of Spike and Sweetie Belle together at the beach, slightly older and very happy together (what can I say? I tried to bend the rules 
). He responded soon after, saying he'd take my commission, but I would have to change it to one character or cancel. I relented because I knew those were the rules, so I, instead, asked for an art piece of Sweetie Belle taking a selfie on the beach for Spike.
Now, this is where things got really fun for me. Mauroz himself said that, while he wouldn't do my original commission, he did like both it and the new commission ideas and that he really wanted to do it (YAY 
)! So he and I messaged each other for a bit talking about how this new commission would go down. We gave each other a few ideas, but I let him dictate more since he was artist. Eventually, he came up with this awesome idea: Sweetie Belle posting a pic for Spike on Instagram.
Keep in mind, my original (well, second original, anyway) commission was just of Sweetie Belle taking a selfie on the beach meant for Spike. What mauroz did was the next level: he made a gorgeous drawing, some funny dialogue, and a hilarious/awesome concept, and the results are SPECTACULAR!!!! I LOVE IT!!!!
Please, enjoy it. This commission means a lot to me, not only for how it looks but also the story around it. I also translated it from Spanish, making minor changes to the dialogue to make it flow better in English. Simply put: I love this and I hope you do, too.

Seriously, the "comments" from the rest of the girls are really funny and sweet. Love them all being super supportive of the couple. Although, I am now really curious as to what "deal" Sweetie and Apple Bloom made. Huh, that was probably added to get me interested in the fic, whenever it happens.

Ha. I wish I could take credit for the dialogue but nope; mauroz made the entire dialogue. I just translated it.
This is just my guess, but I think Apple Bloom might have a little crush on Spike, herself. If that's true, then... well, part of my fic is well on its way.
