I don't want to imply that I'm not floored by the love and tollerance of most of the Brony community, or that I'm not very pleased by the reception my writing gets. But: WHY DO PEOPLE DOWNVOTE MY CLOPS? Are these people homophobes (they definitely are, my M/M fics get hammered especially hard)? Do they think incest is gross? Understandable, but don't piss in my cereal. Is it because I don't actually have a sex drive IRL and I'm getting how sex works wrong? Is it because I have a chart detailing that Macintosh's cock is larger than most ponies torsos, but write him going balls deep anyway?
It isn't my writing; my non-clops typically get very few downvotes.
Also every Mac ship is better than the canon one. source
COMMENT, YOU COWARDS! What crawled up your ass and died?
I think you write quite well! Your description of sexual acts are accurate (aside from penis size, but Mac is big after all!) and very exciting, not only in a erotic sense but your pacing is good and timing is excellent.
You also bring a sense of emotion, of caring to your characters. They have depth and feelings, even it is just about sexual gratification.
I understand your point, though. If someone takes the time to up or down vote a story, they could at least say something along with it. Criticism, good or bad, isn't just a up or down vote. It requires substance to be understood.
Yeah, there are assholes who just reflexively down-vote any story with something they don't thing should exist, like clop, or certain fetishes.ships, anything they don't like. But rather then just ignore it, they have to crusade around making clear how much they dislike this.
Incest is extremely gross, which is why I avoid it when I see it tagged. :B

BRAVERY! Even if you don't reflexively downvote it.

Thanks. One of the benefits of writing fanfic is the availability of knowledgeable feedback. Of course people who downvote without having time to read the story aren't that kind of feedback so whatever I guess.
The site has its fair share of "I will go looking for stuff I don't like just so I can downvote it" people. One group I'm in has some bored individual who will come by once per day to downvote every comment they disagree with (most of them) and leave without posting.

I sometimes worry that I'm actually doing something legitimately wrong.
Like.
Morally I quite possibly am?
But then I remember it's fanfic and it's not a big deal.
I haven’t read your clops really, but since the rest of your writing is good I assume it is too. Incest is gross but it’s ubiquitous in porn for some reason so I doubt they’re just voting down everything they don’t like. IDK, I got nothing.
Well I don't go around downvoting but I'm personally sick of people seeming to think that big mac and shining armor are the only male characters that exist for writing clop. Seeing either of them in a clop fic makes me lose all interest in it. Partially because neither of them are even slightly attractive to me. I'll take braeburn, caramel, or soarin any day but I just don't see what makes big mac or shining armor desirable. Ones a stereotypical farm boy and the other sounds like a dumb surfer bro. Every time big mac says 'eeyup' also makes me wanna punch him in the mouth since i'm from kentucky and trust me, NO ONE talks like that. I don't know, maybe it's just me being a bisexual male but I can't stand those two and would rather find some genderswap fics of the mane six. Anyways, sorry bout the wall of text there. Don't know why you get so much downvotes. I actually really enjoy most of your clopfics and I'd say you're one of my favorite clop authors. I just don't wanna read about the, in my opinion, two worst male characters in any fandom. Well i guess zephyr breeze is right with em too but i feel like they made him unattractive on purpose lmao.

While I do not repent my ShinyMac love, I do think you have a point, and I feel challenged. Perhaps I shall write a BraeAmel (those two hot twinks would be adorable together), or a story where an ordinary nerd like Doctor Hooves gets all the mares/stallions.
Or another Scotch story. Scotch IS the bestest stallion.

I feel like incest is overdone, by now, but there was a contest, you see, and...
5182192
I can agree that scotch is definitely the best stallion. Those are my favorite stories of yours and I like to re read them on occation. Keep up the good work love. Now I'm off to read some more of your human and you, which I've put off for ages now

If you feel like doing something a bit out of the ordinary, there's something that Shakes and I both agree should be A Thing:
A Pinkie & Cakes poly-fic. Not just "swingers picking up a third", cheating, pseudo-incest adopted daughter, or any of that, just three ponies who are together. Haven't seen it done, and probably won't get done now (because finale).

That sounds more like Shakes' voice, because that's his life. Not that I don't like the idea, but after five minutes in my head, it's R63, it's melodramatic, and it's called Ghengis Khan, and involves Princess Rutherford giving Bubble Berry bad relationship advice.
Damn I really like this idea.

A crack-fic version of the idea? I still call this a win.

All my stories are crack, really.
Short Answer: Erotic writing is very tricky, and tbh it usually doesn't work out.
Longer Answer I guess: So can't do much about the M/M stuff. M/M clop gets consistently more downvotes than other sexual orientations, and that's just how it is. I hate it, and I hate that we've been taking about the obvious homophobia with these downvotes for years, but all that talking hasn't changed people's opinions by and large, so might as well roll with it. Everything else? I think it's just because erotic prose is very tricky, and just because you might write good non-porn prose doesn't mean you'll nail the erotic parts (not you specifically, I can think of several horse authors who excel at non-porn writing but kinda go dumpster-diving when doing porn). Personally I'd just accept it and take solace in the people who enjoy the porn writing.

It's all true. Erotic prose is one thing. Erotic prose long enough for someone to fap to is another thing entirely. I would like to know what isn't working for people, tho.
