    Today, I have removed the "A Deer Named John" companion piece "Coping of a Former Human" from my published stories list. I've been considering this action for a long time (years) and have finally made the move.     State of the next chapter

    Have spent part of this week nibbling away at what could be considered the cold opening of the next chapter, which wasn't originally planned for. The fun of adjusting the end of the previous chapter. Reviewed the overall notes as well and am currently dealing with an issue which would have become a plot hole in about eight or ten chapters time so doing best to plug it before that can happen.

    The draft for the next chapter, current title (MA2-C3) City Search, is finally complete. It still needs a little tidying up but, so long as major changes don't need to happen, it shouldn't be long until it is posted. If major changes do need to happen, I will post an update. Oddly prophetic - Updated · 1:49am Dec 20th, 2019

So, me writing and posting Bats from the Bush yesterday is turning oddly prophetic.

Looks like I just moved from ensuring people/animals in the house are okay in the heat, to watching a large grass fire to the west and south of me. Looking at the predicted winds, not to hit us but this will be bad. Hoping we at least don't lose power.

Update - And BANG! went the thunder, triggering my cat before some rain came with. Glad it isn't a dry thunderstorm. And now heavier rain. Bringing us some hope like those in Bats from the Bush. The rain is such a sweet sweet sound. Now for it to go where they desperately need it on the other fires.

Doing best. Currently, fire nearest me has been downgraded but will keep watching. Didn't help that my father had gone missing, but is safe home now. And may have learned a trick to keep the house cool that could be a massive game changer for us. Testing it now.
