My Star Wars sequel trilogy headcanons, what about yours? · 5:04pm Dec 19th, 2019
Okay, so with Rise of Skywalker hitting theatres and reviews pouring in, the saga has finally come to an end. Damn, what a ride. What a ride. I'll probably be making a blog post on my conclusions about Star Wars soon enough, after I see this movie. But now? Headcanons!
1: Mara Jade existed at one point in the universe.
Here's a rather depressing one, I like to reason at one point or the other that Mara Jade -look her up if you don't know who she is- existed in the new canon. Key word being existed. I suspect or believe at any rate she was killed off by someone during the timeframe between Return and Force Awakens. Possibly even by Kylo himself, or a bounty hunter. This, combined with Luke's belief that he failed Ben sent him into that depression we see him in Last Jedi.
2: Admiral Holdo Did Nothing Wrong
Okay, less of a headcanon here I suppose. But my belief is, why would Admiral Holdo, a top-ranking resistance general have any reason to divulge plans to Poe, a fighter pilot soundly demoted? Plus, there was a belief there was a spy on board so...
3: Starkiller existed at some point.
Yes, that Starkiller. The Force Unleashed all-around badass. Because, well why not? There's nothing saying he couldn't have existed in the new canon right? ...Same thing with Darth Revan, really, and in fact I believe TLJ namedropped one of his titles.
4: Ben is still in there.
Okay, throughout Awakens it was clear Ben Solo was still struggling with the Light Side, and he did seem to hesitate before killing his father. Also, there were certain... moments between him and Rey in TLJ. I'd like to think a Force Bond is sorta like a Soul Bond of some sort. Maybe not in the romantic sense, but... you're free to read that as you wish. I dunno, maybe Rise will prove me wrong.
Okay, so that's my headcanons, what about yours? What do you believe?
I think that both Canon and Legends may exist in the same universe, the two just balance each other. Or adapt around each other.
(Also, I read the plot leak on Reddit. Not sure what to think)
I think these headcanons are spot on! My headcanon is that Snoke was Palpatine’s partner before the latter’s supposed demise.
ohhh i always believed Mara Jade exists
Eh legends wise, like MJ, they dont exist until Disney decides they do by re-adding them.

...you've entirely missed the point of all this haven't you? These are headcanons, they don't have to be officially right or even line up with canon. These are our own personal canons.
For example, I'd like the believe the Royal Guard Imperial Starfighter still exists. (And in a way, they do given Resistance character Major Vonreg's starfighter.)

Yeah, she's one of those characters like Thrawn you can't remove from canon that easily. And hey, if Thrawn can come back why not Mara Jade?

Huh, interesting. Tell me more.

Well, I’m just going to say “should anything occur, Palpatine entrusted with Snoke to continue his plan to conquer the cosmos. In fact, Snoke ALLOWED Ben to kill him because that’s what Palpatine WANTED. Palpatine intends for Ben to completely succumb to the Dark Side so he can take over his body and use it as a new vessel to continue his plots. What the Emperor did not account for was Ben’s conscience try to break free from corruption and finally break the cycle of evil.”

....you know, I can see it. With Palpatine, evil incarnate and crazy prepared as he is? Yeah, I can see it. Though personally I think he's going to try bodyjacking Rey in the new film.

I meant that it could end up canon yet.
But then i actually thought about the massive issues with adding a wife to someone we already know wasnt married while alive in the new canon and is dead now. Plus the large part of his later life in isolation and what not.
Headcanon that doesnt at all fit into canon is called alternate universe anyway.
I could see Kylo & Rey being siblings. The answer to her parents in Last Jedi felt ridiculous. Her parents were just traders but she's wielding Luke/Anakin's lightsaber? A fact that gets reiterated a few times in Force Awakens?
5171911
I kinda see hijacking Rey as a Plan B if taking over Ben fails.
I could see Mara existing. Perhaps in a sort of Catwoman like relationship with Luke
In my headcanon, the entire sequel triology never existed.
5171941
They do answer that question in Rise. They're not siblings.

Now that's going a bit too far really. Okay, I get it. They're hit or miss. But please do remember some people enjoy these films, so no need to be obnoxious about it. Few years ago, the prequels were someone's childhood, their Star Wars. Now the sequels are.

Do we know he wasn't married? This is basically filling in gaps of 30 odd years.
5172055
Id probably be an important factor in the character of Luke Skywalker, a method to gather information or use it on Luke.
Or even if she was dead or such it would have still played an important role in discovering his seclusion from others.
Plus the whole "regretting never marrying and having kids" that the dream about staying on Tattooin and marrying that woman was. Actually went and googled it, her name was Camie Marstrap.

Alright, how about this:
Everything in The Force Awakens did happen, but the entirety of The Last Jedi is just a terrible nightmare Finn was having during his coma.

That's fine, you can have your headcanons and I can have mine. Though I actually -and I know I'm putting a target on my back here- enjoyed Last Jedi. It dared to be different, unlike Awakens which at times felt like it was playing it too safe. It and Rogue One didn't do the traditional Star Wars fare.

The Last Jedi may have tried to be something different, but that does not change the fact that it disrespected a lot of characters, raised tons of continuity issues, discarded all those interesting stuff set up by TFA (such as Snoke’s origin), and engaged in an irritating SJW propaganda.
Well, I'm working on something for Holdo.
As it turns out, she was a young student of Thrawn who was setting up an academy of military strategy as part of a top secret mission for Palpatine's Inner Circle. But she was injured by Tyber Zann, another student, who was fleeing with the academy funds. She was left with temporary brain damage.
Thrawn tried to help her recover but when the project was compromised, he had to go into exile.
Still suffering from brain damage and erratic temperament, Holdo was due to be sent to an Imperial prison but was rescued by a rebel cell. She's since become a childhood friend of Leia.
I'm planning an argument between her and Thrawn about how she felt betrayed at him leaving without ensuring she or his other students would be safe.
Hoping to have it quite emotional.
In my headcanon only The expanded universe exist, the clone wars for 2008 and rebels is just holodrama.
