Okay, I know I've made it clear that I do not care for Disney's Star Wars installments (sans Rogue One, and I've heard good things about The Mandalorian), but I will admit, I'm kinda excited to see The Senate make his big comeback here. Yeah, I still have that nagging feeling that his return kind of invalidates the epic and emotional conclusion to Anakin's arc in Return of the Jedi, but still, I can't wait to see how many quotes we can get out of Mr. Dark Side here.
And who knows? Maybe TROS will actually be good after all. I'm not optimistic about the film as a whole, but time will tell.
But it still makes no sense that the First Order would use motorcycles to chase down an airspeeder. Also, stormtroopers with jetpacks has been a thing for a while now, so why is Finn–a former First Order troop himself–so surprised by that? Is it just that the FO has only got that kind of stuff only now?
This is complete bullshit and frankly I'm done with this whole series.
Bring back Legends, ignore all these cracks, and let's go focus on the past.

I have mixed feelings about Palpatine being in the next installment.
On one hand: having an iconic character, a rare villian who makes an argument slightly better than the heroes, saves us from having a potential trope villian ham fisted out.
On the other hand: it means that Disney isn't interested in expanding the universe and making a new compelling villian. They're just bringing Palpatine back so that they say :"Remember that villian who died in the originals? We brought him back because we remember you liking him. May we have some money please?"
All I'm saying is that even a tiny bit of effort to be creative, even if it's an objectively bad effort; means more than not trying in the first place.
