PONY POV SERIES COMPLETE anniversary · 6:07am Dec 11th, 2019

PONY POV SERIES COMPLETE anniversary.

It's now been over a year since the Pony POV Series was completed. Has time really gone by so fast?

Over seven years of my life. The final best years of my life.

Did I leave anything behind?

Was what I wrote ultimately worth while?

Who managed to get to the final chapter and the final surprise picture?

It was a good series. Are you alright?

Just suffering from existential dread. Anxiety at knowing every day is a day closer to death. And a hundred million other tiny little things that shouldn't mean anything in a life where I have a steady, relatively easy job (even if it's a job I wish I could trade out for being paid for my writing!), a roof over my head, internet access, hot water, etc. Making me feel guilty about having these moments of angst when there are people dying of hunger somewhere right now. And watching society's attitudes getting more draconian by the way as you slowly become more and more of a bad fit for the culture your community is becoming. Basically a who bunch of NOTHING.

And I'm sad that Pony POV Series remained so damn OBSCURE in the Brony community. In spite of it being written for over 7 years.

I really need to get around to finally reading Season 8. Pony POV is the sole reason I got into Fimfiction and MLP in general, but I stopped reading stories before they finished around the time Season 8 started since I'd always read up till the latest chapter, then I'd either drop it or the author would take a while to update and by the time I'd get around to it again, it had been so long and I'd read so many things in the meantime that I'd need to go back and read the whole series again to catch up. I went through Pony POV, (the main stuff, not the omakes) at least twice before Season 8 dropped, possibly 3 times. I really want to go through the whole thing, start to end and including omakes (I even have a bookshelf dedicated to it, with every Pony POV story, omake and even the stories inspired by Pony POV from the group) but that would be a pretty lengthy endeavor, and I'm worried I'm gonna get half way though, put it down and have to do the whole thing again.

That being said, even without having read Season 8 (yet), Pony POV is probably the MLP Fic that's most influenced my life, being, as I said, the reason I got into reading Pony fanfic and MLP as a show in general. and the series has some of my favorite moments and concepts in all of pony fanfic (Dark World and Seven Dreams/Nightmares in particular) and, quite honestly, it's criminal little attention they've gotten. So... seriously, thank you. Thank you for writing such a great series, and for introducing me to the world of Fimfiction. I WILL get around to reading the whole series again (and, by proxy, Season 8), at some point soon in the future.

I promise I'll get back to reading it. :twilightsheepish:

I really do need to get back on the Pony POV wagon. My apologies for dragging my feet.

(And I'll say this: the series has some of the most fanart of any ponyfic continuity.)

Still working my way through it.

It's amazing, still reading it and immensly enjoying it.

I finished it as you. It's a great series.

Ah yes, the POV series that felt the same scope and scale as the actual series, down to ending by being closed up in a book.

It's one of a couple of different series that I have read that I occasionally think back on, even years later, with fond memories.
