Jade Ring

The purpose of a story is that it's a story. It can be more, but it can never be less.

    Friendship is Magic: the Musical

So I've been trying to find ways out of my recent funk, and this was one of the most recent attempts. I thoroughly enjoyed the freshman season of Hazbin Hotel, particularly the outstanding musical numbers and how the whole season could, with just a few small modifications, be made into a Broadway style stage musical.

So I figured hell, why not do the same with Friendship is Magic?

    Our Last Anniversary

I've been radio silent on social media since my now ex-wife and I announced our split. A few days ago, I was moved to write this and post it on Facebook. Figured I might as well post it here as well.

    Folks say it's pretty good.

    State of the Author 2023

    It's bad.

    Real bad.

So it should come as no surprise that my wife and I are divorcing. We're having to take it slow because she's so close to the end of her degree and I want her to be in a good place to help take care of our boys. We're still co-habitating, still friends.

Jade Ring: "Those who love your stories will patiently wait. Speaking from experience, as my own readers have been waiting over two years for the next chapter in my main Continuity."

Horse Girls Are Watching:: "Aww man. That's brutal. You should feel bad."

“It is not an easy life.” Cross Wind looked ahead and smiled when she saw a familiar spire. “But it is one that I would not trade for any other in all the world. See!”

The four pegasi looked ahead and beheld, at last, the great city of Zeph, the last of the legendary cloud cities of the Pegasus Tribe. Rainbow Dash and Fluttershy stared, mouth agape, at the sheer size and scale of the place. Compared to Zeph, Cloudsdale was barely a village. The city was miles in diameter, with huge towers ringing the impressive perimeter. The city was a series of perfectly sculpted circles, each filled with finely crafted buildings and statuary. Everything was formed from clouds, from the streets to the houses. As they drew closer, they saw sentries posted in each tower. All were clad in the same armor as their escorts, and they saluted Cross Wind as they passed into the city proper. They flew low so the new arrivals could take in the detail of the great city.

Rainbow Dash marveled and thrilled as she took in every detail. She’d read about the great cloud cities since foalhood, had dreamed of somehow travelling back in time and setting hoof in one. To finally see one with her own eyes was beyond her wildest dreams.

Fluttershy was likewise amazed, but something else had caught her attention. “Where is everypony?”

Two years, one month, and nineteen days...

I guess I've kept you waiting long enough...
