BLUF: New chapter highly likely to be dropping this weekend.
Sweet merciful Heavens above, I finally finished writing the next chapter! First off, Happy Thanksgiving everyone! A bit late I know but better than never. Second off, this chapter took way longer than I expected it to. I was thinking it would be around 5, maybe 7k words long at most. Nope. Try just over 15k words!
I don't know what happened! It turned from me writing the story to the characters doing their own thing and me trying to keep pace with them. One second, I think I'm wrapping up a scene, the next a character decides that they have a lot more to say or a different character decides to butt in and extend the conversation. I may be the writer, but something tells me I more or less just guide events rather than actually dictate them.
All that said, I'm going to do my usual thing of taking the next few days reading over everything, doing my best to fix scenes that need fixing and giving some polish to the rest. Still, I'd say the odds of this chapter dropping this weekend is highly likely. Only something truly unexpected happening could delay it.
Please tell me nothing unexpected is going to happen...

Hhmmm, you know, this could be a good time for me to switch things up a bit. Maybe put some time in fixing that other atrocious story of mine. Or attempt to start a very time consuming YouTube channel. Hell, there's a lot I can focus on outside! Like biking and... well, that's about it around here but hey biking can be fun. There's also golfing, but just no.
There is gamming anywhere you go. The stories and game play could give inspiration and ideas. But agreed, golfing, just no.
