The Newest Chapter and Test Audience Roles! · 9:27am Nov 25th, 2019
Okay, Disclaimer first.
I know at least some of you are getting bored with the running gag in the Author's notes, so I'm gonna see how I can change it up to still be funny and lighthearted with not so much, "Oh my god you killed Shaded! You bastards!"
That said, many of you may have noticed a significant increase in quality and detail with the latest chapter. This is due in part to two reasons, the first being those I mentioned in the latest chapter's author's notes. In my Discord channel, I have opened up Roles for 5 individuals, a small Test Audience. These Individuals will be receiving access to the new Chapter early in an effort to help point out Writing mistakes, story inconsistency, Character development/ stagnation, and overused tropes. They will be able to discuss the chapter with one another in a specified group chat within the Discord, monitored by the Mods and I. The whole reason for this is to help me become a better writer for you guys! I want to give you all the absolute BEST that I can offer, and that's what they are here to do.
There are only 2 qualifications to become a Tester for those who are interested, and no you don't have to pay me anything lol.
The First is to join the Discord channel, I've posted plenty of links in the Author's notes but I'll add one here as well. The Second is just as easy, BE ACTIVE. To become eligible, you must show that you are trustworthy and capable of giving well thought out criticisms. You must be active in the chat discussions for at the very least one week prior to becoming eligible. The Discord Mod's and I will be watching those that are active and will extend invitations to those who prove that they are capable and willing. As it stands, there are only 2 remaining Tester Roles that are up for grabs. Two of the Discord's current members have been promoted due to reaching the qualifications, with the third candidate currently under review. More Tester positions may open in the future, but I would like to keep the Test Audience small with a group of careful and concise readers. That's not to say you aren't allowed to enjoy the story of course! If you feel like being a Tester would make it more of a chore, than by all means, you are free to decline should the position be offered to you.

The Author's Note is part of the charm imo, something you always expect and are consistent.
I like the Authors Note, but I do see how it’s getting stale at the same time. If you have a long-term story outline and aren’t just winging it chapter to chapter, maybe put some gentle spoilers in there. That would be a tricky balance to make, but the AN characters have to be from the future anyway right?
