Awful.
Awful awful awful awful worst waste of time I've ever committed to this year. You can plainly see that the money went towards the visuals and the (stupid) Dynamax mechanic. Half of the new Pokemon were repugnant or forgettable, the region barely has much of interest to keep my invested exploration-wise, the story is barebones and bland, the handholding here is more atrocious than it was in Sun and Moon, the characters were subpar. Just nothing about this game that'll make me replay it; there's barely even any postgame content to keep me around. A huge misstep obvious from the beginning when GF kept making excuses for their actions during its development.
There are only FOUR highlights to the game that really aren't worth alone to go through this boring travesty:
- Sonia. Step aside Cynthia, Elesa and Skyla, this geek is the new ultimate waifu of Pokemon.
- Hop being the first friendly rival that's actually likable.
- Galarian Weezing.
- The mushroom town.
Just... I don't recommend this game. At all. It's more an embarrassment to the latest generation of Pokemon than Gen VII was! And that's honestly impressive!
Save your money for the new Animal Crossing instead.
Well....I....get what you're saying dude. But still, cheer up...Knowing them, they could make a remake. It's best if we don't give much about hurtful comments...I mean, I've heard and seen some authors in other sites giving up their stories because of really hurtful and critical reviews. Though, I can understand but I still want to at least believe in Sword and Shield. Besides, knowing the fandom (no offense), they'll whine about almost anything they want want to whine and complain. This game is no exception. Besides, I never actually cared about the National Dex considering that I never caught all the Pokemon, more so to trade due to version exclusive.

It's not JUST about the National Dex; that's the common misconception of where the general complaints are coming from.
The games are dull, lackluster and barebones. Gamefreak LIED to its customers for this and they NEED to harsh criticism to finally get it through their thick skulls.
I don't own a Switch or either of the new games, but it doesn't matter to me. I'm sticking to Ultra Sun on my New 3DS XL until a Diamond/Pearl remake comes out. And if they make it up to the bar set by X and Y, my favorites, I'll get a Switch just for that, hopefully.
Also, there were a FEW new Pokemon like Corviknight and Scorbunny's final evolution that I liked, but yeah.
They are certainly not the best I've seen in terms of Pokemon games.

But...even so, I think Game Freak would stop doing Pokemon games...*sigh* I just don't get why we need to make harsh criticism towards things...I get its our own opinions, but...I'm not a fan for harsh criticisms...it just makes me feel...hurt.

Sometimes, when people are so arrogant and consider themselves infallible, harsh truth needs to be hammered into their heads and have them wake up in reality. Gamefreak needs to take an honest break from Pokemon games once in a while, otherwise the quality will just diminish every year.

You're right...but...what if they start dropping it? I mean...I grew up with Pokemon and pretty much anyone that I met grew up with that franchise...I mean...I'm sorry...I'm making no more sense anymore...

I get it. It's up to them, but they're digging their own graves faster by refusing to listen to their buyers and learning from their mistakes.

I understand...I'm sorry...

No need to be sorry. XD
Now we wait for Digimon Survive
