My Little Pony Movie News 11/11/2019

Granted this won't be the animation we'll get for the movie, but this looks cool.

GOOD MORNING, FIMFICTION FANATICS!!! This is the Dramamaster829; Critic, Actor, Writer, Motivational Speaker and Occasional Singer, and I am back to deliver some exciting news on all things MLP. While I'd normally have a review from the final season of MLP to go over (Which I should inform you are a work-in-progress) and while the subject we are dealing with hardly relates to Gen 4 in general, in recent weeks this has become the talk of the MLP community worth looking into. As recently announced early last week (Maybe even sooner than that), a brand new project is currently in the works featuring Hasbro's favorite Equine brand in the media. No it's not concerning the upcoming comics nor new 'Equestria Girls' under new management, I'm talking about:

The 'My Little Pony' movie set to be released by Paramount Pictures...

Hooray!!!

That has nothing to do with Gen 4 whatsoever...

BOO!!!!

Okay! Okay! Okay, okay, okay... HOLD IT, PEOPLE!!! Let me explain.

So at this point you are probably asking, 'Dramamaster, why should we be excited by a movie that's not even going to be Gen 4?' Well that's just it: With Generation 5 still looming ahead, the feature itself that is about to release (Around the same time as 'Paranormal Activity' I might add) could very well represent a first impressions type of movie to get us psyched for the ever so mysterious Gen 5. So with that in mind, what do we know about this movie?

Well... To tell you the truth... Nothing.

Boy does it bug me when she does that.

As far as we can tell other than the fact this will be released by Paramount Pictures as opposed to the last company that released an MLP movie, we hardly know any details as far as what to expect. We have no idea what the plot of the movie will be, what characters will be featured (Nor even whose voicing them), we don't know the mood of the atmosphere, how the animation will look, what musical numbers we can expect (If any at all) and unless someone tries to leak out any secret information (AGAIN!) I'm completely in the dark as much as everyone else. All I know for sure is that we have about 680-something days remaining before the film itself gets set for release in September of 2021. Now it's perfectly understandable why people would be nervous about seeing this movie, you'd think we'd prefer to wait until an actual show comes out before they start releasing a new movie and if anything we could be talking something just as bad as the recent 'Powerpuff Girls' series or that 'Teen Titans Go' crap (The same problem with every reboot of a successful television program). Still and all, I am also aware that there are still fans out there trying to be optimistic so if the movie does well enough to leave a lasting first impression then perhaps there's truly nothing to fear.

So what would we want to happen as this film gets set for development? With less than two years, I'm sure there are dozens of fans out there with ideas as to what kind of movie we can expect... Thousands even. It could either feature a cast of ponies we are familiar with (Slightly altered to fit the Generation) or for all we know we might feature an entirely new cast, complete with all new voices. We could either have the same light-hearted tone as Gen 4 or for all we know we could be looking at a scenario as Dark as Gen 1 (Maybe even 'darker'... No, I don't mean 'Adult Swim' kind of 'dark'). For me, what I hope that this movie offers are the two things that make any project a big success: A great story with unforgettable characters. We can have guaranteed beautiful animation and soothing music for the ears, but at the end of the day even if this movie is not guaranteed to be nominated in any awards (Not even for 'Best Animated Feature') all I can hope for is that this movie proves so successful for all fans, young and old, that Gen 5 promises to further enhance how Gen 4 truly made 'MLP' a household name for everyone (Not just for little girls).

But the bigger question remains: What do YOU think? What story do you think we're going to get? Which characters, heroes or villains, would you want to see? What would the world be like? What songs do you hope for?
