Going To Seed- One of the better Applejack focused episodes, with some nice bonding between her and Bloom. Poor Big Mac. Felt like another nice throwback to simpler times, not much more to say. 3 out of 5.
Student Counsel- Another Josh Haber episode I like? It's a miracle! Of course I love Trixie and Starlight so I'm biased, plus I enjoy Maud and Sunburst and Maude. (You can keep Briar and Silver Stream though!) Trixie in particular had some priceless reactions here. 3 and a half out of 5.
The Last Crusade- Wow, Scoots has some thoughtless, selfish parents. Prefer the fanon of being an orphan. Otherwise good episode, and I loved everyone they've helped gathering to celebrate. Cool to see Babs Seed, even if she's apparently a blank flank again! 4 out of 5.
Between Light and Dark- Gail Simone, cool! Like what little I've read of her work and loved her episode of Justice League Unlimited. Really funny episode, glad to see Celestia get more meaningful screen time, albeit she's portrayed a bit too over the top here. Nice song, and hey, Capper makes a cameo! Best part of the movie imo. One of the funniest episodes in a long time! 4 out of 5.

Going to Seed is my least favorite episode of the season. It's fine, but that's about it.
Student Counsel put Maud and Mud Briar among my favorite earth ponies, and it's just a fun episode all around. Easily one of my favorites.
The Last Crusade: Feels heavy. My third favorite episode of the season.
I wouldn't go THAT far.
They do care about her and clearly want what's best for her, they just didn't know how to go about it.

Understandable about Going to Seed, never big on AJ episodes so this one was fine by those standards.
I like Maude but wish Inky and Marble got more screen time!

Yeah, Limestone is my favorite Pie sister, and I wish she had been in it more.
Student Counsel had great Starlight and Trixie chemistry (as all episodes with the two of them do), but it agitates me that every episode makes a big deal out of how there isn't anything for a Guidance Counselor at the School of Friendship to do, except this one time when apparently the job made Starlight super busy (and has always made her super busy based on the dialogue?).
The show is always like that (Sweet Apple Acres takes as much work as the plot requires and Rarity can hoof stitch every dress sold from her numerous boutiques and so on), but in this one instance the inconsistency really bothers me.

They care about her in some abstract sense that they're aware of having an offspring and they're aware an offspring should be cared at. I'd say that's worse than honest apathy and neglect.
Also, ya know, they named her Scootaloo.

Yes, I give the show a pass most of the time on inconsistencies since it's a light-hearted comedy foremost, but it does really grate sometimes. Man, I'd love a Trixie/Starlight spin-off.
Oh yeah, one thing I forgot to mention in the last episode I watched; really disliked Fancy's portrayal there, he's usually shown as understanding; making him act like a typical stuck up snob makes him far less interesting IMO. Shame as I'm guessing this will be his last real appearance. (Not counting cameos.)
