BLUF: Time flies! Also, chapter draft is complete.
First things first, I've finished writing the next chapter and I'm just going through my finishing process. I would expect a drop, if not this weekend, then definitely sometime next week. Maybe even tonight if we're lucky.
So...
I got onto the site today to do some browsing, see if any story I'm tracking have updated, working on my own story. You know, the usual. Then I noticed that little "member since" thing located below your username.
October 24th, 2012.
7 years! Damn does time fly by! to put a little perspective on things, I discovered MLP and the fandom shortly after I graduated high school back in 2012. Would you believe it started with YouTuber Cry doing a play through of "Story of the Blanks" or something like that? Anyways, I signed up on Fimfiction a few months later to better keep track of stories. In those 7 years, I enlisted, then separated from the Air Force, learned an entire new language when I never thought I could, and moved a total of 9 times to five separate states. Everywhere from the Pacific Ocean to the Atlantic Ocean and a couple in between. All the while, I continued coming back to this site to read up on some amazing stories. Stories which inspired me to try writing my own.
I remember my first attempt being in the year 2016. It did not go well is all I'm gonna say haha! I think I still have some old blog posts that were written for that attempt. Not that I recommend reading them, they're probably very cringe like. A dozen or so of more attempts and failures later and I finally have a semi-decent success. I understand I still have much to learn, but considering how it all started... I'll take it! If there's something to learn about me, it's that I'm one stubborn, tenacious basterd! Even if CotE should fall by the waste side for some reason or another, you can guarantee that I'll be back to try again.
Let it be said to never give up on trying, eh? Not everything is going to be 100% successful and you're going to fail. Important thing is to learn from those failures and try again. Sure it may take a long time, it's taken me nearly 7 years (3 of active writing) and longer still on other projects/hobbies of mine. But, a 7 year wait is still better than giving up and dreaming of what ifs.
