Hello everyone. The end of the FiM show has finally been aired. Without giving an specific spoilers I am going to now share my feelings on it and how it might or might not affect this story.
So to begin with... (large inhale) ... no, no, no, no, no, no, NO!!! That is NOT happening! Lol
Okay so don't get me wrong. I greatly enjoyed the ending. I thought it was great and fun to watch. I didn't appreciate how it was moved to air in the middle of the afternoon instead of early in the morning... but it was still great.
BUT THAT IS NOT HAPPENING IN MY STORY!!! lol
(Has a mild panic attack because the ending cut no less than four different holes into what I had planned for my story. But then clams down as I remind myself that I am skilled enough as a writer to be able to write around anything.) Okay,phew. It's okay. It's going to be okay. I think I know how I can balance around what it showed in the show and what I want to happen instead.
But damn, the truth about Grogar was dumb and that is NOT the ending my story is going with for the villains.

Now for the hapoy side. **SPOILERS**
The second half of the show finale I loved. It makes me so happy that they validated so many ships. Discord and Fluttershy are a couple, Pinkie Pie and Cheese had foals, and surprise surprise Rainbow Dash and Applejack look like an old married lesbian couple. That is super cute. Also I loved seeing that Spike actually grew up a little more. It didn't specifically validate Sparity as a couple in the end but it didn't disband the idea ever by showing Spike or Rarity with anyone else.i assume this was on purpose to leave it up to fan opinions. I approve.
Also there is a dark theory that has been confirmed. All the mares have a grey streak because they're older now while Twilight has grown into a proper alicorn. This means that in time Twilight will out live all of her friends. She and Spike will continue to live on through the ages after the rest of the mane six have passed away. It's sad to think about... but it's a fact of life.
I believe in you, we believe in you to make a world YOUR world that you see fit, and not follow the episodes same way but make it YOUR way, the show had given you the tools and materials to work with, to make world you and everyone could enjoy. You have the power and vision to make a difference in a story, a world of fiction made by your OWN hand to mold.
That what Lauren Faust wants for us, to spread our creative wing in a world of our creation.
