The time is nearly here. · 7:36pm Oct 7th, 2019

This saturday is the end of an era. Friendship is Magic will be wrapping up its last episode with a three part finale, and while we will get more from Gen 4 in the form of comics, this here is where one era ends, and for another to begin. Gen 5 is coming, though we don't know anything about it just yet, and I'm personally excited. That, however, is just one of two big things happening for me this weekend.

After much planning, brainstorming, writing, and work, its about to begin. When the series finale ends, and I mean right when it ends, I will be uploading the start to probably the second biggest story I've ever worked on. Some of you might already know what it is, but some of you may not.

Fillies and Gentlecolts, this Saturday, Fears of Bygone Eras prologue and first chapter will be released to all.

Now that the hype part is out of the way, it's time for a bit of a personal talk about this story.

Nearly every story that I start on here is started with a simple question, and after that nothing else really happens. It's not often that I actually do some planning for a story or work on it far ahead of when it's actually gonna release. Usually I don't take the time to completely go over it and edit my mistakes, or set a path for the characters in the story. I've always been that way, but something about writing this was different. With all the love I have for the characters I've made, those from Descendants of the Night were easily some of my favorites. I knew what kind of story I wanted to tell with them, what would happen to them and why, and what the world they live in is like. Luminous and Silvia especially have a sort of connection with me, and after dropping that story i felt... wrong. Just wrong. There isn't really another way to say it.

That's why I announced this ahead of time, why I commissioned a cover for the first time, why I wrote chapters out in advance instead of uploading them whenever they were finished. I didn't just want this to be another story, I wanted this to be a show of how much I've learn and created on here. While I didn't in any way want to get spoiled by the finale, it sparked the oil that fueled the story, and my creativity fanned it until it nearly burst. I've never been this dedicated to something in my life. For the first time sense I put out the last chapter of Beginning's I actually put music on in the background to get myself in the right move. That might not seem like much, but for me it shows how motivated I am about this project.

I'm about to share some story details concerning the story, something I've been kind of minimal on up to this point. To begin, the Series Finale had to happen for my idea to work, as the situation presented in it is going to be a bit... meta. Not in a silly way, though. Descendant's of the Night was an experiment for me to give a more emotional story. Each chapter began with a short monologue from a character in the story, something that will be returning in a slightly different here. I wanted this emotion to relay into the situation in the story, and this theme of meta, as well as a theme of history, is going to play a huge part of that. I don't want to give too much away, but I felt like I needed to state that.

This theme meant two things needed to happen before I could actually go ahead with it. The first, was that the series finale had to occur, thus why I haven't uploaded anything yet so I both don't spoil it and have the situation have more impact. The second is that I needed to get down how I was actually going to portray "meta" in this story, as it plays a huge part in what's to come. That second part was the hardest, as I wasn't going for meta humor. In fact, the way I represent it in the story has caused me to use a tag that I haven't used in ages. I won't reveal much, but lets just say those of you who have been here a while might see some familiar faces as it goes on.

That's all I want to say for now. The prologue and chapter 1 release is in sight and I couldn't be more excited. Some time after, I plan on doing a sort of chapter analysis, explaining what was going on while writing it and some of the decisions I've made. Whether that happens sooner or later is up for debate, however. Either way, I hope you all are looking forward to the story, and enjoy the series finale!
